Wishy washy tyres. They just feel weak willed. Not bad as such, but not confidence inspiring.

Absolutely garbage in Scottish Highland roads don't drive fast of whatever.
Went through 4 sets because executive wear in the middle band for no reason, went on to a more expensive brand and lasted a year
Only got two months out of front tyres
Although I do drive a lot and btw that was just all (B) roads and motorway not city driving I hate these tyres absolutely rubbish compound

Decent wet/dry grip, nice looking tyre. Racing pedigree around the brand led me to buy. Lasted 14 months/8k miles before they cracked and were deemed no longer fit for purpose. Not great value for money.

Horrible tyres. I bought a pair of these as an emergency purchase in Feb 2022 having had two tyres damaged after hitting a serious pothole (crater) on the B4011 road southbound between Long Crendon and Thame. Thank you Bucks CC for not maintaining the roads. Anyway, these Avons were mounted and I do not like them at all. Quiet is the best I can say of them. The steer response is sluggish, and, although not understeery as such they do start to run wide in a way decent tyres shouldn't. I have disposed of them and replaced with proper tyres that work. My experience of these Avon tyres isn't good. There was also a slight left pull with these mounted that wasn't present before they were fitted and has gone away after they were removed. I had a full four wheel alignment performed - that did not resolve the issue, despite the car being straight before and after the fitment of these pitiful tyres from Avon. Avon will likely hammer me for this. That's fine by me. I am open to discussion. I note this review as end of life because I've chosen to get rid of these useless tyres.

I know the Avon is a more 'mid range' tyre, but it still delivers in most of the areas that you want from a sporty to borderline 'UHP' tyre. Leaves a little to be desired in wet grip, tending to push wide by preference when leaned on. Great in the dry, grip pretty well but tend to get hot pretty quickly on something the size and weight of the Volvo. The most dissapointing thing about these is the durability, not only do they tend to dissapear remarkably quickly, but in the case of the rears, they have started to suffer from cracking (both in the tread grooves and on the sidewalls) on tires that are less than 2 years old and have done less than 20000km. Some quick reserch reveals that this is not a rare problem. All in a good tyre, maybe some better options out there, but certainly for the money they are a solid bet.

Bought a set of ZV7 for my wife's car. Only two years old and covered less than 10,000 miles and there are cracks in the tread for the whole circumference of the wheel, which will require the tyres to be replaced. This appears to be a very common fault with ZV7 tyres. I have been using Avon tyres for about 15 years, but will be looking for an alternative brand now.

I've used a Avon's for years now and quality has certainly done downhill. I can't fault them for breaking and aquaplaning resistance is very high. The main issue is really strange wear pattern that has caused me having to change the tyres prematurely, I think that this might be down to them using a softer compound in the middle of the tyre however it is way too soft if it is the case. Yes I have covered a distance in his tires, however the outer bands still have 5 mm of trees left. And the tyres are anything but over inflated, and the wear has only occurred within the past 6 months If these tears were the same quality as years ago yes I would say buy them. However they certainly are cheaper. However still got the price tag.

Put a set of 4 to replace the ZV previously on our MX5 NB. Given that the previous model were more than adequate for our our driving profile, the price/performance ratio were enough for us to opt ZV7. For a little over £52 per corner we have a wonderfully comfortable and quiet tyre with plenty of grip - budget price for great performance. Very pleased with Avon.

BMW X3 e83 2006. Fitted 2 tyres late in 2020 and the other 2 early 2021 ( one was then replaced under insurance due to puncture in 2022). Covid lockdown/WFH also limited the mileage I’ve done on them. I hate these tyres with a passion and regret fitting them. Local Tyre Centre offered these as one of several options and went with Avons as I have their Turbosteels fitted to a kitcar and they were an excellent tyre. These Avons cause havoc with my X3 transfer box and the ride is clunky and backlashy and just awful. I had Dunlop SP1 fitted previously and they were excellent with none of these issues. In comparison to the Dunlops I would say the Avon sidewall isn’t up to the job of such a heavy/ performance suv. The other issue I have with these is they are cracking and crazing already, even the new 2022 one. Had a Mechanic look at them and he said he’s seen better low budget tires and that they all looked like they were over five years old. (Ive done no more than 7000 miles on the older 2). Out of interest I checked online and there are quite a few unhappy reviews about early cracking on these tyres. Can’t recommend them for an X3 specifically or more broadly for their rapid wear. I’m going back to Dunlops in a few weeks.

I was very happy with these tyres fitted to my Citroen Berlingo Multispace until all 4 tyres cracked inside the tread pattern around the complete circumference of the tyre. All 4 tyres were only 3 years old and had only completed 6400 miles. I had to use the extremely unhelpful British Tyre Manufacturers Association UK (BTMAUK) returns system where at my cost I had to have all 4 tyres removed. After 4 months of fighting to get the original fitting garage to send the tyres to the distributor (Oak Tyres of Haydock) who then had to send them to Avon I was awarded a credit note to the value of £160 towards 4 new tyres which is useless as I had already had to replace the tyres. I cannot and will not ever be able to recommend Avon tyres to anyone after this.

Bought these ZV7's for my Megane at the start of 2020, got all 4 fitted at same time. The Build date on them was 46/19, and they are badly perished already, got a warning at MOT time about them. They seem to drive well and grip well at least for my style of driving. They have done about 14000 miles and the front's are almost on wear bar, the rears look about 50% worn. I read that Avon tyres were made in the UK but my tyres have made in Serbia on them. I bought these to replace the Falken's that were on it which were almost brand new (car was nearly 2 years old when i bought it) but they were runflats and too hard for the cars setup. I was happy with them until i got the warning about the perishing, they are 3 years old as it stands with the 46th week of 2019 being the build date, a local tyre centre advised that you don't often see 3 year old tyres in this state. I will go back to my usual Uniroyal rainsports, i know they are not the best money can buy but i have always liked them. I won't buy Avon again.

Purchased 12 months ago and to be honest they are nice to drive with good grip in all conditions.. However, I just went to have new rears fitted to find my front two tyres have worn to 2MM in 12 months. The S-SMAX is a bit heavy on tyre use but I expected better than this as I have had Avons before and they have lasted a lot longer than this.
