Passenger Car Summer Ultra High Performance Tyres Tyre Review Highlights

Laufenn S Fit EQ Plus rated 96% while driving a Audi a5 3.0 tdi quattro sport
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 average miles
This review is for the Z FIT EQ, these tyres are a real find. They are excellent in the wet and dry. They are laufenns UHP performance tyre. No understeer or oversteer with these having solid sidewalls and give you total confidence to drive your car in any situations you come across. Really comfortable ride in the car and excellent mpg. People think that economy tyres are not safe but all tyres sold in the UK have to meet British standards. 7.5 mm of tread depth and good rim protection make these brilliant!

Dunlop SP Sport LM 705 rated 76% while driving a Honda Jazz
Driving on mostly town for 0 spirited miles
I have bought a Dunlop LM705W 185/55/r15 86V tyre. I used tihs only one week. I should have bought a comfort tyre. There were only two alternatives. Kumho HS52 and Dunlop LM705W. Kumho might better chouise for grip. Kumho was lower price also. But I chose comfort. Dry grip is good but I felt slide wet road in corner 70-80 km/h little bit. This might be wrong review for only one week. My old tyre Dunlop FM800 handling was better than this. But comfort of this tyre is perfect. Road noise is minimum.

Do not overlook these tyres. Normally I would not entertain less than premium brands for a high performance car, but after reading a review in EVO I thought I would give them a try and have used them since. They have tremendous grip wet or dry, easily the equal of Michelin 4S and even the Conti 7. As an ex racer I drive my dedicated sports car very hard when conditions permit so I never expect big miles, it isn't my priority. In my opinion these are miles better than the equivalent Pirelli offerings.

Driving on mostly town for 1000 average miles
This time on budget so decided to try it out. And it surprised me!! Dry road it grippy, wet road i dun feel slippery also. Previously using pz4 & ps5 both good tyres. The only different i can feel is the braking not as good as ps5 for around 5% and rubber compound feel bit softer dun no is it their new technology AdvanZtech which made them more comfort & quite. Anyway no regret! After all it a good UHP tyres with 320 treadwear too.

Nankang Sportnex AS2 Plus rated 54% while driving a BMW 520d M Sport
Driving on mostly town for 10000 easy going miles
Good tyre - gone too soon though.
Purchased in January 23 for my BMW 520d. Car is used for commuting, never really driven hard as its not quick, but found they wore out fairly quickly after doing around 10,000 miles.
I did suspect this when I took delivery and saw the treadwear rating. I'm sure the trade-off would be better on a car driven more spiritedly, but for the daily commute, I think I will be looking for an alternative.

Achilles ATR Sport rated 42% while driving a BMW 330xi
Driving on mostly motorways for 2000 spirited miles
OK tires in the dry, decent grip and feedback but nothing extraordinary or impressive by any means. Absolutely abysmal in the rain, no grip anywhere and very prone to hydroplaning. I was given a set of wheels with these, and I would not purchase them if they weren't given to me for free. Would not recommend this tire overall to anyone who values their life or the life of their passengers in any wet conditions. Better tires out there for your money. Overall a very average tire in the dry, and a deadly tire in the rain.

Yokohama Advan Sport V105S rated 76% while driving a Mercedes Benz C220 cdi
Driving on mostly country roads for 5000 average miles
These replaced some uncouth Road-X tyres. Superb Japanese tyres. Do they know how to make a tyre or what? It punches well above it's weight and drives like a Michelin PS5. They just put the power down. As they are so progressive they keep on giving. The car drives fantastic. A complete and utter transformation and new lease of life to the car. Corner fun? Check. Aqua plane? No problem. All round amazing tyres that just get better and better the more you throw at them. No tramlining but stick to the road like glue. My first time trying a Yoko, having stuck to the big main brands for over 30 years. No regrets whatsoever. Slightly heavy as a run flat (newer run flats are lighter and weigh about the same as non run flats) but the minor fuel penalty is something I can life with because they feel so safe and assuring. We have a safe tyre here. Sporty characteristics when required. Comfort when required. Not many can achieve that. Looking forward to trying the V107.

RoadX RXMOTION U11 rated 41% while driving a Mercedes Benz
Driving on mostly country roads for 20000 average miles
These tyres are built for one thing and one thing alone, longevity. At 20,000 miles, the tread was 4.5mm-5.2mm and they clearly had life left in them. They are marketed as a tyre that can reach 60,000 miles but that is where the praise stops. The compound is hard. As such, spirited driving is not their forte. The traction light and skid noises could draw attention. The dry grip is average. In the wet they were below average. Forget heavy cornering and handling. Simply put, they cannot handle excitement. Wet braking was terrible. There is a reason these are cheap and cheerful. The car just felt broken and never drove properly. Similar to a previous detailed BMW review on here for these tyres. If you are looking for a town/city hard waring tyre though, then these could be for you. However, safety is not at the forefront so I could not recommend these on a motorway. They were replaced with Yokohama and the difference is night and day. As these Road-X tyres are quite hard, the fuel saving was okay but not spectacular. I would rather face a very minor fuel penalty with more appropriate and safer tyres than use these again.

Davanti Protoura Sport rated 31% while driving a Skoda
Driving on a combination of roads for 12000 spirited miles
Dry is ok.

Wet is frightingly dangerous with massive understeer and no grip under exceleration.

Braking distance has almost doubled also.

These ar so bad they should be pulled from the market.
