The Antares GRIP 60 ice had one clear strength in the 2023 TESTIRENKAAT Studless vs Studded Snow Tyre Test: ice traction, where it led the eight-tyre mixed field with a 5.95 s result. Ice braking was also relatively close to the best at 15.25 m, a 3.4% gap and third of eight. Those results did not bring balanced performance on ice, however. Ice handling was fifth, 16.5% behind the quickest, and the testers described very poor driving behaviour. It finished seventh of eight overall in this single test, which combined studless and studded winter tyres rather than a uniform class.
Snow traction was last of eight, 25.3% from the best, while snow braking and handling were both fifth. The testers described weak snow grip, poor wet grip and very high noise. Wet handling was last, 11.1% behind the quickest, and wet braking was fifth with a 25.7% gap. Dry braking was last at 33.06 m, and dry drivability was the weakest in the testers' assessment. The ice-traction result is useful, but it should not be read as evidence of secure ice handling or balanced winter performance; the test's handling criticisms remain substantial.
