Performance Analysis

Drawn from 1 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.

The Nereus NS805 Plus has one test, Vi Bilagare's 2020 Nordic Friction Winter Tyre Test in 205/60 R16. It is a Central European winter tyre assessed in a comparison described as Nordic friction, so the eighth-place overall finish does not establish its position against winter tyres of its own type. Its more favourable results were a 37.29-metre wet stop and a 65.2 km/h straight aquaplaning speed, both praised by the testers. They also noted a low price and reasonable ice handling, measured at 50.63 seconds. These are findings from one comparison, without another test to establish consistency.

The testers criticised snow grip and the snow and ice stopping distances, measured at 11.7 metres and 3.62 metres respectively. Those comments describe a limitation in this particular winter comparison, but the field's different winter focus matters when interpreting the rankings. The wet handling time was 45.31 seconds and dry braking took 30.78 metres. Wet stopping and standing-water resistance were the clearer positive findings, while this test does not resolve how its overall winter balance compares with other Central European tyres.

Performance Strengths

  • Wet braking Minor in 1 of 1 tests
    Details
    • A 37.29-metre wet stopping distance, praised as short by Vi Bilagare in 2020; the comparison was described as Nordic friction rather than a matching Central European field.
  • Aquaplaning resistance Minor in 1 of 1 tests
    Details
    • Straight aquaplaning speed of 65.2 km/h and good resistance noted by Vi Bilagare in 2020.
  • Value for money Minor
    Details
    • Low price noted by Vi Bilagare in 2020, without an overall value recommendation.

Performance Weaknesses

  • Snow braking Minor in 1 of 1 tests
    Details
    • Vi Bilagare criticised the 11.7-metre snow stopping result in 2020; its different winter-type field limits like-for-like interpretation.
  • Ice grip Minor
    Details
    • Vi Bilagare criticised ice braking at 3.62 metres in 2020, while finding ice handling reasonable; this was a Nordic-focused comparison.
  • Snow traction Strong in 1 of 1 tests
