Atturo launches the Trail Blade AT2
Atturo has announced the Trail Blade AT2, an all-terrain tyre for pickups, SUVs and light trucks that replaces the original Trail Blade A/T. The company is showing it at the 2026 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, and says it will reach Atturo dealers in January 2027.
Positioning
The Trail Blade A/T was one of the first tyres in Atturo's Trail Blade off-road family, launched in 2013 in a handful of LT sizes. The family has since grown to include the ATS, XT, MT, MTS and BOSS. The AT2 takes over the plain A/T's role as the general-purpose all-terrain option, aimed at drivers who split their time between road and gravel or dirt rather than serious off-roading. Atturo president Michael Mathis said the brief was to improve wet grip, snow traction, noise, tread life and looks while keeping the tyre at the same price point.
Key technical changes
- A new tread pattern, which Atturo says is exclusive to the brand, with more biting edges for dirt, mud, gravel and sand.
- Variable pitch tread blocks, which the company says reduce road noise.
- Full-depth 3D sipes that Atturo says keep working for snow and wet grip down to 5/32 inch (about 4 mm) of tread.
- Wide circumferential channels to move water, slush and mud out of the contact patch.
- A revised tread compound, which Atturo credits with holding rolling resistance level with the old tyre.
- The three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) mark, which the original A/T did not carry.
Manufacturer performance claims
Atturo's figures compare the AT2 with the tyre it replaces. On the EU tyre label, the company says wet grip improves by three full grades and external noise drops from 73 dB to 72 dB, while the rolling resistance grade stays the same. It also claims better snow traction and offers a 55,000 mile tread life warranty. Atturo suggests the tyre suits hybrid and electric pickups and SUVs because of its rolling resistance and noise levels. These are the manufacturer's own figures, and the per-size label grades have not yet been published.
There is no independent test of the Trail Blade AT2 or the original Trail Blade A/T yet. For how established all-terrain tyres compare on road and off it, see our 2026 all-terrain tyre test.
Sizes and availability
- 29 sizes for 15 to 20 inch wheels.
- Both LT (light truck) and standard load constructions.
- On sale at Atturo dealers from January 2027.
What it means for drivers
The AT2 is a broader range than the tyre it replaces, and the snowflake mark makes it a more reasonable year-round choice for drivers in snowy regions. The wet grip and noise improvements are Atturo's own claims, and how the tyre performs against better-known all-terrain tyres remains to be seen. We will look at how those claims hold up once tyres are available.
