Performance Analysis

Barum Quartaris 5 - Official Image

The Barum Quartaris 5 shows a clear all-season bias toward winter capability and value, but struggles markedly in dry braking and comfort. Across four independent tests it consistently lands mid-pack overall, buoyed by standout snow braking (joint-best in ADAC 2025) and respectable wet braking that tends to sit around the mid-field. Operational efficiency is acceptable, with competitive fuel consumption and decent purchase price/value positioning.
However, repeated bottom-tier dry braking results drag down its overall safety envelope, and ADAC 2025 highlighted very poor dry stopping alongside the worst-in-test external noise. Wear/abrasion metrics are only average-to-below average, limiting longevity appeal. In short, it's a budget-friendly, winter-leaning all-season tyre best suited to mixed or colder climates where snow grip matters more than dry-road stopping distances.
