2026 AutoView Sport Tyre Test P3 of 7

The Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE005 finished third and is the most interesting tyre in the test. It pairs genuine limit composure with the lowest rolling resistance of the group, a combination that usually involves a trade off, and it does it at a price well below the two European tyres above it. If its braking matched its cornering it would have threatened the win. As things stand it is the tyre to pick when how a car feels at the limit matters more than the braking figures.

Performance Analysis

Drawn from 1 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.

In the 2026 AutoView Sport Tyre Test, the Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE005 finished third of seven, combining strong dry cornering with the lowest rolling resistance in the group. It was second in both subjective dry handling and dry circle speed, just 0.7% behind the best in the latter. The testers particularly liked its gradual loss of grip and the way it remained steerable beyond the limit. Third places for comfort and noise also suggest that its handling ability did not come with the poorest refinement.

Braking was less competitive in that same test: fourth of seven in the dry, 5.9% behind the best, and sixth in the wet, 9.7% behind. The testers identified these heavily weighted disciplines as the main obstacle to a higher overall finish. They also found the steering slightly light around the straight ahead at higher speeds. The shallowest tread in the group raised a concern about wear life, but this was not a measured longevity result. Its price was below the two European tyres ahead of it; with only one test, the balance between handling, efficiency and braking remains a finding from this particular field.
