2026 Tire Rack Streetable Track Tyre Test
The Bridgestone Potenza RE 71 RZ was included to bridge two categories, and it justified its place. On outright pace it was the slowest of the three, both over a single lap and across the cool morning session, but it degraded the least of anything in the test and moved up to second once the afternoon heat arrived. Tire Rack found the gap was less about lap time than about feel: the front could be saturated into understeer mid-corner, and away from that the tyre tended towards oversteer, so it never felt as securely planted as its rivals. It also gave up the least tread over the day, with the only real wear on the outer edge of the central rib. For a driver who wants one set that can commute as well as lap, it was the most flexible tyre here.
