2026 Summer ECO Tyre Test P4 of 8

The Falken e.Ziex is specifically designed for electric vehicles, prioritizing low rolling resistance and quiet running. It is the quietest tyre in the test at low speeds inside the cabin, and it delivers comfortable ride quality. On dry roads, it behaves in a safe, understeer-biased manner with good cornering reserves, though steering response is somewhat lazy. The main weakness shows on wet roads: braking distances are longer than average, and the tyre exhibits unstable, lift-off-sensitive behavior in wet corners. The Falken e.Ziex's most consistent strength is efficiency: rolling resistance was best in the 2023 AMS EV comparison and Auto Bild's 2024 and 2025 EV tests. It also led energy consumption in 2023 and 2024 and range in 2025, at 410 km. Dry braking is generally strong, including first of six in the 2025 AMS Sustainability test and second of eight in the 2026 Summer ECO test. AMS called it a co-winner and value champion in 2025, with second place recorded overall, while Auto Bild rated it good in 2025 despite fifth of eight overall.

Wet results vary substantially. Wet braking was second of ten in AMS's 2023 test and second of six in its 2025 sustainability test, but seventh of eight with Auto Bild in 2025, 15.7% behind the best. The 2025 AMS result was unusually favourable for handling too, third of six, compared with ninth of ten in 2023 and seventh of eight with Auto Bild in 2025. Aquaplaning is a recurring weakness, last in both disciplines in 2023 and fifth of six in 2025 with AMS, although Auto Bild found better resistance in 2025. Testers also noted lazy steering and, in 2026, sensitivity to lifting off in wet corners. Quiet running and comfort earn praise, but noise rankings vary and projected mileage was below average in both Auto Bild EV tests.
