The Firestone WinterForce 2 combined good snow traction and aquaplaning resistance with weak wet-road grip in the 2020 Consumer Reports North America Winter Tyre Test. It finished 17th of 17 in 215/60 R16, despite the testers praising its snow traction and resistance to standing water.
Consumer Reports found relatively long wet stopping distances and low wet cornering grip. The aquaplaning praise therefore does not establish strong wet braking or handling, which were separate weaknesses. This is a single test without individual discipline measurements or placings, so there is no basis for quoting braking margins or extending the assessment to dry performance, ice, wear or refinement.
