Performance Analysis

Drawn from 2 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.

The Hankook Weatherflex GT has sharply conflicting results in two fitments, with weak dry braking the clearest common limitation. In the 2025 Tyre Reviews test titled The BEST All Weather Tyres for 2026/27, it was third of eight and Highly recommended in 235/45 R18. It led curved aquaplaning and subjective comfort, placed third in wet handling, and drew praise for sharp but calm steering. Dry braking was sixth of eight, 8.7% from best, and both ice disciplines were seventh.

The 2026 AutoView All-Season Tyre Test in 255/45R19 was an unusual reversal: fourth of four overall, last for subjective comfort and handling, with abrupt oversteer reported. Wet braking was last, 24.5% from best, versus fourth of eight and 2.8% behind in the earlier test. Dry braking was last, 14% from best. AutoView did not recommend that fitment on safety grounds. Its best subjective noise rating contrasted with last place for measured noise; the earlier test also placed measured noise sixth of eight. Both tests noted competitive pricing, but their opposing comfort and handling verdicts prevent a general claim of reassuring behaviour across sizes.

Tyre Reviews 235/45 R18 Tested by Tyre Reviews Highly Rec.

The Hankook Weatherflex GT finished an impressive third, and it was a tyre I had never tested before. It was third in wet handling, the best in curved aquaplaning and good in the snow, and it was genuinely nice to drive, with sharp but calm steering, a neutral balance and the best comfort in the test. It is weaker on ice and in dry braking, but it is competitively priced and well worth considering.
