Performance Analysis
Drawn from 2 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.
The Maxxis Mecotra ME3 has a consistent dry-versus-wet split in its two ADAC summer tests. In the 2018 comparison in 175/65 R14, ADAC described it as best for dry performance but weak in the wet, with 13th of 14 overall. In the 2019 185/65 R15 test it finished seventh of sixteen, again rated very good in the dry but a little weak in the wet.
The 2019 test also praised very low fuel consumption, giving efficiency some support alongside dry-road ability. The much better overall placing in 2019 was achieved in a different size and field, so it does not by itself establish an improvement in the product. There are no discipline measurements, wear results or noise assessments here to quantify those aspects or explain the full difference between the overall finishes. The repeated dry praise and wet reservations are firmer findings than a broad verdict on refinement or durability.
