2026 Summer Motorhome and Van Tyre Test P4 of 7

Michelin Agilis 3 is likely the longest-wearing tyre in the test, with the shallowest tread depth at 8.1 mm and the lowest rolling resistance tied with Continental. It also delivered the best aquaplaning resistance of any tyre tested, both longitudinal and lateral, and is the quietest on the road. Ride comfort was rated highly. However, braking performance on wet and dry surfaces is only mid-pack, and the subjective handling notes describe it as safe but not particularly sharp. This is a tyre suited to high-mileage commercial or fleet use where fuel cost and longevity take priority over outright grip.

Performance Analysis

Drawn from 1 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.

The Michelin AGILIS 3 finished fourth of seven in the 2026 Pro Mobil summer motorhome and van test, with its best results in aquaplaning resistance, comfort, noise and rolling resistance. It led straight-line aquaplaning at 95.1 km/h, and the testers also judged its lateral aquaplaning resistance best. It shared the best rolling resistance result at 5.4 kg/t, scored nine points for comfort and recorded the lowest noise at 70.7 dB. Those results support the testers' emphasis on efficiency and refinement for commercial use.

Braking and handling were less competitive: fifth of seven in dry braking at 43 metres and fourth in wet braking at 30.4 metres, 12.6% behind the best. Timed handling was fifth in the dry and fourth in the wet, while the testers described its responses as safe but not particularly sharp. Their suggestion that it was likely to last longest was an assessment, not a measured wear result. This single test supports the case for drivers prioritising low rolling resistance and comfort, but cannot establish a pattern across different tests.
