The Nitto NT555 G2 finished last of ten in the 2025 Tire Rack UUHP Summer Tyre Test. It was last in both dry braking, at 34.8 metres and 12.6% longer than the best, and dry handling, 6.5% behind the fastest lap. Wet results were also last: braking took 49.7 metres, 25.5% longer than the best, and the handling lap was 12.6% slower. Subjective dry and wet handling ratings also placed it tenth. The tester described low grip on both surfaces, with predictable slides but little competitive pace.
There were useful qualifications. Impact comfort was acceptable and behaviour at the limit was easy to control, so low grip did not necessarily mean an abrupt breakaway. The dry-circle result was an unusual isolated positive, listed first of ten at 0.92 g, contrasting with the last-place dry lap, braking and subjective handling results. It does not establish a broad dry-grip advantage. The subjective road score was also last of ten, despite the favourable comment on impact absorption. This is a single test in 275/35 R19, with no basis here for judging wear or cold-weather performance.
