Best Performance Tyres For 2025 P7 of 7

It will be no surprise that the budget Sunny NA305 finished in last place, and was the worst in everything bar NVH and rolling resistance, and it wasn't just a little bit worse, 40% off in wet braking is tragic. When braking from motorway speeds, where you'd be stopped on the Pirelli, you'd still be doing 70 km/h on the sunny. That's bad. Think about hitting a stationary car at 70 km/h!.

Performance Analysis

Drawn from 2 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.

The Sunny NA305 has finished near the bottom in both summer tests, with long braking distances the consistent concern. It was last of seven in Tyre Reviews' Best Performance Tyres For 2025 and ninth of ten in the 2020 Teknikens 17 Inch Summer Tyre Test. Wet braking was last in 2025, 39.8% behind the best, and ninth of ten in 2020, 10% behind. Dry braking was also last in 2025, with a 17.2% gap, and eighth of ten in 2020. The 2025 testers singled out the wet stopping distance as dangerous; the earlier test also criticised braking on both surfaces and its elk-test result.

Rolling resistance is the main positive, praised in both tests, although lowest of seven in 2025 contrasts with sixth of ten in 2020. Other results vary more: the 2020 testers called wet handling acceptable despite eighth place, whereas it was last and 23% slower than the best in 2025. Comfort was unusually poor in 2020, last of ten, compared with fourth of seven in 2025. Straight aquaplaning was mid-field in 2020 but last in 2025. The earlier test noted a very low price, but the repeated braking weaknesses remain the clearest part of its record.
