Performance Analysis
Drawn from 2 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.
The Yokohama ADVAN Sport finished ninth of nine in the 2011 Autoreview Max Performance Summer Tyre Test. Auto Review described average dry performance but poor wet grip and handling, with low aquaplaning resistance. Quietness was its stated positive. That is a clear wet-road reservation in one full comparison, although it does not establish how every size or version performs.
The other result is 26th of 50 in Auto Bild's 2012 braking test. This is a larger-field braking placing rather than a full handling assessment, and there are no individual stopping distances or discipline placings to explain it further. Taken together, the results do not show a broad performance advantage: the full test was weak in the wet, while the braking overview placed it around the middle.

2011 Autoreview Max Performance Summer Tyre Test
The Yokohama Advan Sport scored similarly to the Bridgestone RE050A giving average dry performance and poor wet scores. This again raised the question as to whether the Japanese ship a different compound into Russia, or is it just one of Yokohamas flashship tyres really lags behind its competitors
