The Yokohama BluEarth RV02 drew dry- and wet-grip criticism in both 2020 SUV tests, despite different overall verdicts. Gute Fahrt placed it seventh of eight and Satisfactory, with dry braking sixth, 7.9% behind the best, and wet braking seventh, 4.9% behind. Subjective handling was seventh in the dry and sixth in the wet, while straight aquaplaning resistance was last. ADAC was less critical overall, placing it fifth of 12 and Recommended, but still described it as slightly weak on dry and wet roads. The two tests therefore agree more on the grip limitations than the final recommendation suggests.
Noise and efficiency offer a less uniform picture. ADAC called it the quietest tyre on test, whereas Gute Fahrt's subjective noise placing was fourth of eight, an unusually less favourable relative result. Rolling resistance also split the verdicts unusually: Gute Fahrt praised low fuel use despite a numerical fifth of eight, while ADAC criticised slightly high fuel consumption. Gute Fahrt rated comfort average, fourth of eight. ADAC's projected life of 38,400 km placed eighth of 12, so it does not establish an outstanding wear advantage. Quiet running is a positive in one comparison, but neither test supports treating grip as a particular strength.
