Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10 Range - Launched

Winter experts Nokian Tyres have updated the hugely successful studded winter tyre range, the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9, with three new models - the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10, Hakkapeliitta 10 SUV and Hakkapeliitta 10 EV.

The new Hakkapeliitta 10 range comes with an array of new features, including an innovative tread pattern and multifunctional siping to improve snow traction and lower noise levels, a stiffened centre rib to improve steering feel and speed, new compound to improve overall wet grip, and advanced multidirectional studs which sit on a cushion of softer rubber and air to improve grip on ice, cause less damage to the road surface, and further lower the noise levels.

In addition, the Hakkapeliitta 10 SUV has a high aramid blend carcass to give the tyre a stronger resistance to the types of punctures you might experience when using the tyres off-road, while the Hakkapeliitta 10 EV comes fitted with “Silent Drive” sound absorbing technology by default, lowing peak dB in the cabin by up to 6 dB, and a stronger structure for the extra weight and torque of electric vehicles.

All these updates mean the new Hakkapeliitta 10 improves on the 9 by 2% in snow braking, 2% snow handling, 2% snow traction, 3% ice braking, 3% ice handling and a huge 8% in ice traction!

The new Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10, 10 SUV and 10 EV will start shipping in spring covering sizes from 14 to 22 inches, and will almost certainly be one of the top Nordic studded winter tyres for the 2021 winter season.
