2025 ADAC All Season Tyre Test P14 of 16

Translation and Summary The APlus AS909 is rated as "deficient" overall for driving safety, a score dictated by its significant weaknesses on wet roads which led to a downgrade of its final grade. On dry roads, its performance is merely "adequate," offering poor and imprecise steering feedback that requires constant driver correction and early oversteering in dynamic maneuvers. On wet surfaces, the tyre reaches its limits, earning a "deficient" rating for its braking distance and handling due to very low grip, making it difficult to control. Its winter performance is deemed satisfactory overall, securing good scores for braking and traction but only an "adequate" rating for handling, as it struggles to combine forces effectively. In contrast, the Chinese-made tyre achieves a good environmental score thanks to very good projected mileage and low fuel consumption. However, its sustainability is rated as just adequate because the manufacturer failed to provide requested ISO certifications or other sustainability credentials, and its weight is high.

Strong: Ice Braking, Value, Fuel Consumption, Abrasion Weak: Wet Braking, Wet Braking - Concrete, Straight Aqua, Curved Aquaplaning Winner: Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen 3

Performance Analysis

Drawn from 1 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.

The Aplus AS909 finished 14th of 16 in the 2025 ADAC All Season Tyre Test, with a deficient driving-safety verdict driven by wet-road weaknesses. Wet braking was 15th on both surfaces, with stopping distances 24.9% longer than the best on asphalt and 29.2% longer on concrete. Straight-line aquaplaning resistance was also 15th, while curved aquaplaning was last. The tester described very low wet grip and difficult handling. Dry braking was midfield at eighth, but steering was imprecise and required frequent corrections, with early oversteer in dynamic manoeuvres.

The stronger results were efficiency, projected life and ice braking. It shared the second-shortest ice stop, had the third-highest predicted mileage at 59,000 km, and recorded the lowest fuel consumption. Its cost per 1,000 km, calculated from purchase price and test wear, was the lowest of 15 results. These are test projections rather than an owner durability record. Snow braking and traction received favourable written assessments but placed ninth and 11th of 16, so winter performance was not uniformly near the front. This single test identifies substantial wet-road compromises despite favourable running-cost estimates.
