Performance Analysis

Drawn from 2 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.

The Debica Frigo 2 shows a consistent snow bias across its two winter tests, with weaker performance on bare roads. ADAC placed it sixth of twelve in its 2018 175/65 R14 Winter Tyre Test, praising snow ability but calling it relatively weak in the dry and wet. In the 2017 Auto Centrum AC Winter Tyre Test it was fifth of eight overall, yet snow braking and traction both ranked second, only 1.7% and 0.8% behind the best respectively. Ice braking and traction were first of eight, ice handling second, and rolling resistance also led the field.

Those strong winter and efficiency results did not extend to braking and handling on wet or dry asphalt. Auto Centrum placed dry braking seventh of eight, 10.1% longer than the best, and wet braking seventh, 23.8% longer. Wet handling was last, 9.4% behind, while straight-line aquaplaning was sixth, 10% behind. The testers explicitly criticised dry and wet braking and handling, consistent with ADAC’s later bare-road concerns. This is a clearer case for snowy conditions than for a balanced mild-winter tyre, although both tests date from 2017-2018 and do not establish how it compares with newer alternatives.
