The Goodride SA57 offers low purchase cost and favourable cost per distance, but braking, wear and efficiency weakened its 2022 Auto Bild result. It finished 18th of 21 in the full comparison, with wet braking 19th of 22 at 48.9 m, 13.7% longer than the best. Rolling resistance was 21st of 22, 57.8% above the best, and projected life only 26,860 km, 20th of 21. Value nevertheless placed third of 21 and noise ninth of 22, supporting the praise for low price and relatively low noise.
Aquaplaning needs qualification: the favourable written verdict is unusual beside straight aquaplaning in 21st of 22, 8.8% behind the best, while curved resistance was mid-field at 11th. Dry handling was also mid-field at 12th of 22, with testers noting understeer; wet handling and circle grip were both 18th. Dry braking was 20th of 22 despite a smaller 4.5% distance deficit. The market overview placed it 20th of 50, with wet braking 19th of 44 and a 13.8% deficit, but this and the full test belong to the same 2022 Auto Bild programme.
