Performance Analysis

Drawn from 2 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric SUV showed a stronger case for wet-road balance and comfort than a sharp sporting feel in two summer SUV tests. Auto Review placed it second of 11 in 2013, with the shortest wet stopping distance and a well-balanced wet-handling performance. The testers found it a little numb in dry handling and recommended it more for a comfortable drive than a sporty one.

Aquaplaning contains an unusual reversal. In 2013 it began aquaplaning earlier than the leading competitors, whereas Off Road's 2015 comparison praised the highest aquaplaning resistance. That later test placed it fifth of nine overall, with good comfort but only average dry handling. The repeated comfort praise is more consistent than the standing-water verdicts, and neither comparison establishes particularly sharp dry-road responses. No measured braking distances or wear results allow those aspects to be quantified further.

Goodyear are traditionally strong in the wet, and the Eagle F1 Asymmetric SUV is no exception, scoring the shortest stopping distance in wet braking. The Cayenne had a nice balance during wet handling, but started to aquaplane earlier than the other leading competitors. During dry handling the Goodyear feels a little numb compared to some of the other tyres. Recommended for those who are looking for a safe and comfortable tyre opposed to a sporty drive.
