Michelin Pilot Sport 4S vs Cup 2 vs Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar 3 vs 3R vs Toyo R888R P3 of 5

The Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar 3 is a very impressive road / track hybrid tyre. The steering is well weighted, quick and direct, offering good feedback and sportier levels of driving than even the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2. The grip levels are very high, with the lap time a second ahead of the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. This is an outstanding road tyre on track, and the surprise of the test for me.

Performance Analysis

Drawn from 1 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.

The Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar 3 has one independent road and track comparison, with steering feel the clearest strength. In the 2021 Tyre Reviews test against the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, Cup 2, SuperCar 3R and Toyo R888R, it finished third of five overall and third for dry handling at 71.77s, 1.9% slower than best. Its subjective dry-handling score was second at 9.5 points, supporting the tester's praise for quick, direct and well-weighted steering.

The tester described high grip and useful feedback, with a lap time a second quicker than the Pilot Sport 4S, although slower than the Cup 2. That is a favourable result for a road and track tyre within a field spanning different levels of track focus, rather than a claim to leading outright pace. The record contains no wet, braking, comfort or wear assessments, so its positive track verdict cannot establish the rest of its road performance or a pattern across tests.
