2013 Auto Review Performance Summer Tyre Test P5 of 9

Good grip in the wet, with high resistance to aquaplaning. Quick steering left the car nervous, causing early slip. A good level of comfort and good in the dry, the Hankook is a good mid range tyre offered in a wide range of sizes.

Performance Analysis

Drawn from 3 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.

The Hankook Ventus V12 evo k110 has a middle-to-lower-field record across three summer tests: fifth of nine in Auto Review's 2013 performance comparison, eighth of nine in EVO's 2010 test and fifth of six in the 2009 AMS summer comparison. Only Auto Review gives a detailed verdict, praising wet grip, aquaplaning resistance, comfort and dry-road performance.

That favourable grip assessment came with a handling qualification. Auto Review found the steering quick enough to make the car nervous, with early slip and snappy behaviour on wet roads. Good grip and resistance to standing water therefore did not translate into equally reassuring responses near the limit. The earlier tests give no discipline results or comments, so they support the modest overall record without establishing whether the same strengths or weaknesses recurred. There is no independent evidence here for tread life or noise.
