2026 Vi Bilagare Summer Tyre Test P9 of 10

Landsail RapidDragon performs a step above what is typically seen from the budget segment. It turns in well and has no issues with aquaplaning. Comfort is decent, though straight-line stability at normal driving speeds is a bit vague. The problems appear when the tyre has to brake and steer at the same time - it becomes difficult to control under pressure. Emergency manoeuvres reveal a clearly oversteer-biased balance. Braking on its own is acceptable, but the overall behaviour under combined loads is still well behind the established brands.

Performance Analysis

Drawn from 2 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.

Braking is a weakness across both 2026 tests of the Landsail RapidDragon, while comfort and fuel consumption are more favourable in its full assessment. Vi Bilagare placed it ninth of ten overall, with eighth in dry braking, ninth in wet braking and ninth in wet handling. Auto Bild placed it 34th of 50 in its summer braking comparison: dry braking was 31st, 13.1% longer than the best, and wet braking 35th, 30.2% longer. These results give little support for strong stopping performance despite the different sizes tested.

Vi Bilagare found the most comfortable ride, second place for subjective noise and third-lowest fuel consumption. Its more serious concern was behaviour when braking and steering together: the rear stepped out in evasive manoeuvres, while straight-line stability felt vague even at normal speeds. The written assessment says aquaplaning caused no issues, but the measured straight-aquaplaning result was ninth of ten, albeit only 1.9% below the best, so it is not a clear competitive strength. The testers considered it above the usual budget standard, while still behind established brands under combined loads. Those comfort and efficiency merits have not been checked in a second full test.
