Uniroyal RainSport 2 Owner Reviews
Review this tyreWhat owners say summarised from 210 reviews
Wet grip is the clearest strength of the Uniroyal RainSport 2, with 133 positive mentions against two criticisms, followed by dry grip at 95 against eight. Comfort is also more often praised than criticised, while tread life is closely divided at 43 positive comments and 32 complaints. Around one in six criticise soft sidewalls, and smaller minorities mention imprecise steering or noise, with noise itself nearly evenly split. Repeat reviewers mostly remain favourable, but their scores and mileages do not show one consistent ageing trend. With an 81.4% average across 210 reviews, the strongest agreement concerns grip rather than long life or sharp steering.

As soon as I had the rain sport2's fitted the car felt totally different. There was grip tons of it, the rear of the car no longer skipped and let go over ruts in the road when going round a corner on the rear, these babies have almost 9mm of tread when new !!
The car also felt more comfortable and a definate reduction in road noise was instant the moment I rolled out of the tyre fitting centre.
The dry grip is just fantastic and although I have yet to try these on really wet roads even though I have done over 700 miles so far, when the roads have had that wet glossy look ( which I sometimes feel can be more of a hazard) I have had full confidence that the grip is still all there. If you are wondering what the tread patten is like then these have a deep v type pattern simillar to the Goodyear.
Cannot comment on wear as yet but hoping to get much more than the Michelin and these only cost me just a fraction over 100.00 a corner where as the Michelins were another 60.00 at least.
Cannot hardly wait for the fronts to ware out so I can get a matching set !!!
If you are looking for a great all round tyre at a very reasonable cost price then these are a must. You might have to ring round a few tyre places to get hold of these but well worth it !!

I had purchased the Car in 2007 August and it had a new set of budget tyres already fitted Wahnli branded to Pass it's MOT.
The Car was fine for feedback and feel but the tyres seem to run out of grip before the suspension did, leaning to quickly onto the sidewall and following B road potholes horribly, the first 8000 miles were not too bad. The wet weather performance I thought at the time was reasonable.
Looking for a Change, I discussed various tyres with my local Tyre dealer , with abundance of tyre knowledge and feedback from their customers, Alpha Tyres in Fenton, Stoke adviced me towards the Uniroyals.
So the Uniroyal Rainsport 2 was choosen after much contemplation between the Toyo T1R Proxies and The Goodyear Eagle F1's .
1500 miles in , the handling has transformed, Wet weather grip is amazing , you really have to drive it in the rain to realise how good these are in the wet.
General feel changed, noticable reduction in understeer dramatically changed the perception of how much spped you are actually carrying into corners, as it has a much stronger sidewall. The dry grip is brilliant.
I'm just enjoying these tyres , in whatever weather. A little warm up of the tyre gets these babies more sticky and braking has improved aswell, again wet or dry you feel on the road, not waiting to drop off.
