German motorhome magazine promobil tested seven summer tyres in size 225/75 R 16 C for its April 2026 issue. This is the standard fitment for the Fiat Ducato Maxi and Heavy variants, widely used as a base for motorhomes and campervans. Testing was carried out on a loaded Ducato Maxi to simulate real-world motorhome weights, with results split across wet (50%), dry (40%), and environmental (10%) categories. The seven tyres came from Barum, Continental, Firestone, Goodyear, Michelin, Nokian, and Vredestein.

Auto Bild's 2025 All Season Camper Van Tyre Test evaluated 9 all-season tyres in size 245/45 R18, alongside reference summer and winter tyres. The test revealed significant performance differences across the all-season field, with gaps of up to 9.7 meters in wet braking and 12.4 km/h in aquaplaning resistance. While the best all-season tyres approached or exceeded the reference tyres in certain conditions, the results highlight the importance of choosing quality products within the all-season category.

The 2024 Promobil camper van / motorhome all season tyre test has tested eight of the best all season tyres using a VW Transporter Van (T6.1) fitted out as a camper. The test looked at how these tyres perform in various conditions, including snow, wet, and dry roads. Key aspects such as braking distances, traction, and handling were examined to understand each tyre's capabilities.

If you need to keep your van mobile year round, all season tyres are an increasingly popular solution, which is why German publication Pro Mobile have tested seven commercial all season tyres in the popular 225/70 R15C tyre size.

On test they have all the manufactures you'd expect from a car all season tyre test, with Continental, Falken, Goodyear, Maxxis, Michelin, Pirelli and Vredestein included in the test.

As motorhome, van and commercial vehicle tyre testing is new to the Tyre Reviews website, we thought we'd start with the best of the best, and cover the 2020 Auto Bild 235/65 R16 C test, which used a VW Crafter van to test eight cargo rated all season tyres, and included a summer and winter tyre as reference!

As this is an all season tyre test, Auto Bild not only tested the dry and wet performance of all eight tyres, but also the snow ability of each pattern. Read on below for the full results of what is, another fascinating test by Auto Bild.

In what might be a first for a main publication, ADAC have tested sixteen 215/65 R16 C cargo / commercial tyres designed for vans, people carriers and vehicles such as the popular VW Transporter.

Sadly, ADACs findings aren't overly positive, with no tyre pleasing the testers overall due to a general lack of wet performance.
