In its one independent test, the Continental SecureContact AW finished joint first with the Michelin CrossClimate 2 AW. Tyre Reviews' 2025 comparison, titled The BEST All Weather Tyres for 2026/27, ranked it first of eight for wet braking, wet handling and the wet circle. Snow traction matched the Michelin, while snow braking was second, 1.4% longer than best. Comfort and rolling resistance were also second, making it a convincing option for drivers seeking mixed-weather grip and a comfortable ride.
Its strong wet-surface grip does not extend to standing water. Straight and curved aquaplaning both ranked seventh of eight, with the curved result 27.5% behind best. Dry braking was fourth, 5.7% longer than best, although dry handling was second and close to the fastest. Snow handling was second and ice results third, so it was competitive across winter disciplines without leading all of them. The test supports its appeal for wet-road driving, with aquaplaning resistance the main limitation and no owner-review summary yet to establish long-term behaviour.

The new Continental SecureContact AW finished joint first with the Michelin. It was the best tyre in the wet, secure and predictable with huge amounts of grip, it got closer to the Michelin in the snow than any other tyre, and it had the second lowest rolling resistance. Aquaplaning is its weak point. If you see more wet weather across the year than snow, this is the all weather tyre to buy.
