I tried several tires on my Leon Cupra and the continental sport contact 7 and much better I wonder if the premium contact 7 would be as good given that it is so well rated I regret that the continental sport contact 7 wears very quickly 400km it remains 5mm I would still take these tires despite their rapid wear because there are no tires that are as good in the rain and the dry I would like to see a thorough test of the continental sport contact 7 on their wear please
These tires are quieter than I expected despite the 72db noise tag. Hard sidewalls reduce comfort, but that's okay.
The SportContact 7 are the best tires I've ever used on wet roads.
Even if it rains, I am as comfortable as traveling on a sunny day.
Many times in heavy rain, I drove through a large puddle at speeds of +130 km/h. The steering wheel makes me feel like I'm going through a puddle, but the tires almost completely prevent the car from destabilizing.
The healing process after getting into the puddle is very fast.
It definitely shows the same success in braking.
You can expect a tire with this performance on wet roads to stay behind on dry roads, but you are wrong! Best dry road performance I've ever seen. You have to make a serious effort to get them out of the way.
When you brake, you stick to the road like glue.
It is truly incredible to be able to give the top performance on both wet and dry roads.

I was just about to buy the Michelin PS4 since they known to be one of the best tires, but decided to put in some research beforehand and ended up finding some excelent reviews about the SportContact 7, I can gladly say these reviews were not fake at all!
I mostly drive them locally on some pretty raught roads where they still manage to give a comfortable ride considering the tyre sizes and also took some road trips where I could put them into the test and well they work like a charm, handling is just amazing in the dry paired with some Bilstein coilovers. During the first bigger rain last summer I also tried a couple of emergency stops and they did not dissapoint.

With this size being recently available thought I’d post an initial review.
Came from the Asym 6 and the PZero before that.
In this size on the Skoda these tyres are simply incredible in every area.
Grip in all conditions is better than the Asym 6. They find grip under acceleration that just wasn’t possible before. Even with that grip the feel at the limit is so exploitable it’s made me laugh out loud at times. The front/rear balance of the Sportcontact 7s on the VRS is neutral like on the Asyms, maybe a touch more towards oversteer but that could just be the added feel of the SC7’s allowing better control of the car’s balance. I find this so important in the Skoda as you want to be able to balance the car while on the throttle rather than off cos of the stability control that can’t be turned off.
I read elsewhere how, on a GTi with 235/35 ZR19s, the SC7s had felt unrefined but without feel on the road. That’s opposite to my experience. On the Skoda the ride is very nearly as refined as the Asym 6, helped by being able to run the SC7s with less pressure due to the stiffer sidewall. Yet for the first time in the VRS there is a hint of that word journo’s love to use - granularity!
Before buying these my head was saying Conti Premium Contact 7 but my heart the Sportcontact. The Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport was also a consideration but reviews of its wet grip performance seem inconsistent. After 650 miles on the SC7 I can’t see any reason why I’d go for the Premium Contact!
Just wanted to tell you a couple of things, really short..
- Unbelievable grip! Type R's are known for their amazing capacity of tracking and cornering but boy.. This thing rides like it's on rails with CSC7;
- Unbelievable road feedback! The road feedback and the sharp feeling is at another level, coming from the PS4S where feedback was below sea level compared with CSC7;
- Infamous life span! You can not expect more than 8-10 000 km (5-7000 miles) from these tires and it s so wrong! We all expected better milage after the CSC6 fail.
F1 SS are next.
So i put these tires on at around 85,000km's and i must say they are an amazing tire when it comes to grip, road feedback, handling and so on. However im now at around 97,000kms, and i must say first, i have a heavy right foot and if i must admit i drive like a bit of a knob. But knobs aside, these tires seem to wear down very quickly im at around 4-5mm left on the tires and i dont see them going for more than 10000kms more. They are a great tire but i think they wear down far to quickly for the price and competition at this price point. I will most likely be looking at some f1 asym 6 or something else in this category for my next set.
I was really looking forward fitting these as the reviews and tests are very promising. I replaced Michelin PS4 S. What i immediately noticed is the noise and driving comfort, which is noticeably better on Michelin’s. However, when it comes to handling(especially sharper/pointier cornering) and grip both in wet and dry, this tyre is a winner. The Conti’s have stiffer sidewalls than Michelins, so it make sense. Another thing which i don’t like that much is that i get more wheel hop with these tyres.. but that depends from car to car i think. Would recommend these SC 7’s to everyone who loves spirited driving and Michelin’s if you care more about comfort.
This is a continuation of a review I did a few months back on these tyres, but this time for the rears of my BMW M2.
Having found the fronts to be so good compared to the OEM fit Michelin Pilot Super Sports, I knew I would be getting these SportContact 7's for the rears when the time came...and three days ago that time came. I don't need to have had the tyres on any longer than that to know the difference in traction off the line and also the grip they have under acceleration. Where the PSS's would be spinning up and I'd be pulling a higher gear or having to lift off, these things just stick incredibly well. It isn't particularly warm and they just have grip from turning the key, they don't need to be warmed up. Their other trick is on a wet road. They grip in the wet like its dry, and again where the PSS would spin I can almost pin the throttle on a wet road and it just sticks. They do of course break away when you are too aggressive under acceleration on a corner as any tyre will, but the SC7's grip for longer and are perfectly predictable when the rear does go.
Overall the best tyre I have ever experienced on a car, and they are a bargain price when comparing them to Michelin's offerings. The confidence they give, and the inherent safety factor in the wet, is something no tyre on the market can match at the moment especially when combined with their dry performance too. 11 out of 10. Fantastic!
So far, so good, these have given me a very good 2000 autumn miles (6-15 deg C, some dry, mostly wet). These are very good in both the wet and dry, and from experience they'll grip pretty strong even when the road is cold. Though it feels as though these improve considerably as you get more heat into them.
These tyres will aquaplane if the appropriate conditions present themselves, especially if you try to push on through a road with even some standing water, though recovery was quick in the times this has happened to me. Probably not a good tyre for beginners due to this.
These are as noisy and as comfortable as the old CSC 6s on my car were, which is to say they're quite noisy and not that comfortable, but this is fair considering the performance on offer. On the motorway they're not bad, but not great.
I've lost about 2-3 MPG compared to the old CSC 6. A small, but measurable difference.
Hello, the tyres are superb in wet and dry conditions. They have replaced the previous SC6 which i had. The SC6 had an issue with tyre wear but it still last me 2 seasons. Now with SC7 this is improved but they also have very hard sidewall which has ruin the ride comfort. They are so harsh on the motorway that i wouldn't recommend anyone to buy this tire.
I’ve switched from Bridgestone Potenza S001 RFT Tyres to these. It’s a night and day difference. In normal driving the car is A LOT more comfortable and quiet. The steering isn’t prone to “tramlining” anymore. The steering does feel a little bit lighter but the turn in and progressiveness is much better. The car never loses grip anymore and is very predictable, in the wet you may get some understeer on tight turns but this is communicated trough the steering wheel first. Overall I can’t say a lot about the threadwear still, but I don’t think that it will match the bridgestones. Those lasted 90k km and still had thread wear on it.
Bought these based on the group test results and was not disappointed. The wet grip is at a new level! I've tracked them several times both in dry and wet and they didn't fail. I was especially impressed with how they held up during the day and the tread that was left afterwards. These tyres transformed the driving experience both on the road and track.
