The Hifly HP 801 SUV is the most affordable tyre in the test with reasonable aquaplaning resistance being its main strength. Shows significant limitations in wet handling and braking, with extended stopping distances that raise safety concerns. Dry performance is similarly compromised with borderline handling characteristics. Off-road capability is merely adequate. Despite the attractive price, the compromises in safety-relevant characteristics make it difficult to recommend for daily use.
Strong: Straight Aqua ·Weak: Dry Braking, Dry Handling, Wet Braking, Wet Handling, Grass Traction, Rolling Resistance ·Winner: Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6

Performance Analysis
Drawn from 2 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.
The Hifly HP801 combines good aquaplaning resistance with repeated braking and handling weaknesses in two 2025 SUV tests. Auto Bild Allrad placed it ninth of ten overall, with both wet braking and handling ninth; its 59.5 m wet stop was 27.1% longer than the best. Vi Bilagare put it last of seven, with wet braking last, 14.9% behind the best, and wet handling sixth. Both also found weak dry stopping: ninth of ten and last of seven, with deficits of 12.7% and 11% respectively. Dry handling was ninth at Auto Bild and last subjectively at Vi Bilagare.
Standing water was a consistent exception, with straight aquaplaning resistance second in both tests. Vi Bilagare also rated comfort first of seven, attributing that benefit to the soft carcass. Its more serious finding was poor lateral stability and severe fishtailing during sudden manoeuvres with a heavy EV, leading it to deem the tyre unsuitable for heavy vehicles despite the correct load rating. Auto Bild likewise found the road-performance compromises difficult to recommend for daily use, with off-road ability merely adequate. Efficiency was weak too: rolling resistance was ninth of ten, 46.4% above the best, at Auto Bild, and range last at Vi Bilagare. Low price and comfort did not offset the braking and stability concerns.

The Chinese Hifly Vigorous HP801 attracts with its low price, but the test reveals significant safety compromises. Its most concerning weakness is poor lateral stability, making it unable to maintain control during sudden maneuvers with a heavy electric vehicle. The tyre lacks the side stability needed for heavier cars, resulting in difficult handling under pressure with severe fishtailing. Braking performance is limited, though not as poor as might be expected from a budget brand. The soft carcass does provide good rolling comfort, and the tyre scores well in aquaplaning resistance, with wet grip that's not as poor as seen in other budget tyres in previous years. Despite these few positive points, the Hifly is deemed directly unsuitable for heavy vehicles, even though it carries the correct weight rating. The test ranks it last with just 54 points, emphasizing that the low price comes with serious safety compromises.
