Marangoni Mythos Reviews - Page 3

Given 87% while driving a Audi A4 (245/45 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 32 average miles
I fitted a set of Marangoni Mythos to my Audi Avant after the OE Continentals wore out. I don't drive like a maniac but 14,000 miles from the front Continental was a bit short of what I expected. I was recommended Marangoni by a friend who is into his performance cars, and he swore to me that Marangoni were as good as anything he had tried before. I took his advice and have to say that I have been really impressed so far. I've now driven 18,000 miles on them and although the fronts are getting a bit worn, I'm sure they will run for 20,000 miles (a full 6000 more than the Continentals!)
The grip levels of these tyres in the dry are phenomenal and it takes some seriously stupid driving to get them to break point. In the wet, they are MUCH better than the OE Continentals! Even my wife could tell the difference on wet roundabouts.
Anyway, at risk of sounding like an advert for Marangoni, I'll stop at that. But for me, as a high miles driver, in a powerful and heavy car, I have 100% confidence in these tyres. Oh, one other thing.... the tyres are Italian made, not produced in Asia / China etc. To me, this means they are specifically designed for European roads.... again, that must be a plus point.

Given 56% while driving a Mercedes Benz E Class (/ R) on mostly country roads for 32,000 average miles
As much as I liked the Marangoni it's just NOT an option to keep replacing blown tyres, and when I say blown I'm saying the entire inside wall has gone completely on 2 of my 4 blow outs. You read it right 4 blow outs in 18 months is just not on.

The offsets of the car are fine, so it can cope with the larger wheel and tyre combo.

I drive well and carefully with occasional hits of the pedal when safe, but mostly as per the law dictates. I was running 275/30/19's on the rear and 245/35/19's on the front. The blow outs ALL occurred at highway speeds with 2 on a twisty mountainous roads. I feel it was ONLY because the car was a Merc that on every occasion we there was barely noticeable change to steering and I pulled up without mishap.

Other than the blow outs the Marangoni's performed beautifully, a bit noisy perhaps but great in dry and especially wet. Bottom line is would I buy them again and the answer is no.

I'm now changing to Toyo T1 R so I'm hoping for a better run

Given 80% while driving a BMW e36 (215/40 R17 W) on mostly country roads for 8,000 spirited miles
I have these tyres on the front wheels of my bmw 323i and have been impressed by them so far. Grip is fantastic on a dry road but I feel is not as good as some others on wet and ice. I have done over 8000 miles with these tyres and they have still got 4mm tread left on them which is pretty good considering the weight of the car, the bendy country roads I drive on and the speed I tend to drive at. There is little road noise from these tyres and they make cruising on the motorway very smooth and comfortable. I will be ordering a full set of these tyres when my current ones wear out.
