Performance Analysis
Drawn from 3 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.
The Nexen N Fera RU1 finishes near the back in all three independent summer tests, with braking and wet handling the main recurring weaknesses. Wet braking was last of five in the 2017 Vi Bilagare SUV test at 49.6m, 15.1% longer than best, and eighth of nine in the 2017 Motor Mag UHP test at 15.63m, 12% longer. Auto Bild Allrad 2019 also criticised its wet stops, recording seventh of ten at 52.3m. Dry braking and handling were last in both 2017 comparisons.
There are some narrower positives. In the 2019 Auto Bild Allrad SUV test, gravel traction was second of ten at 9,592N, and the testers praised grip on sand and gravel. Their description of acceptable dry and wet handling was unusually favourable beside the weaker 2017 verdicts, although its 2019 handling placings remained seventh and eighth. Vi Bilagare praised low noise and fuel consumption in 2017, but the efficiency finding has an unusual reversal: Auto Bild Allrad 2019 measured the highest rolling resistance, 35.4% above best. It was also last for straight aquaplaning in that test. The limited refinement and loose-surface positives do not establish consistent braking or wet-road confidence.
