Performance Analysis

Drawn from 2 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.

The Viking WinTech NewGen's strongest results are on snow and ice, while dry-road performance held back its overall result with ADAC. In the 2026 ADAC Winter Tyre Test it was third of 16 in snow braking and traction, second in ice braking and second for noise. ADAC praised secure snow handling and high snow traction, but rated it adequate overall in joint twelfth. Snow braking was also competitive in Auto Bild's 2026 50-set braking test, seventh of 30 and just 1% behind the shortest stop, contributing to 12th of 50 overall.

Dry braking was last of 16 with ADAC, 11.8% longer than the best, and the testers found dry handling imprecise and in need of frequent corrections. Wet braking was 12th of 16 on both asphalt and concrete, with gaps of 18.8% and 19.5%. Auto Bild's tenth of 50 in wet braking looks stronger, but its 16.1% gap still left a substantial distance to the best, and the tests used different sizes. Wear was below average at 29,500 km, tenth of 16, while abrasion was second worst. Its low noise and winter grip are useful strengths, but they do not offset the dry braking and handling weaknesses in ADAC's assessment.
