Performance Analysis

Drawn from 2 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.

The Westlake Z 107 has stronger aquaplaning results than braking or predicted tread life in two 205/55 R16 tests. It was 27th of 55 in the 2024 Auto Bild Summer Tyre Market Overview and 34th of 50 in the 2023 ADAC Summer Tyre Test. Wet braking was below midfield in both: 28th of 55 and 22.1% from best in Auto Bild, then 29th of 50 and 20.3% from best in ADAC. Dry braking was closer to the middle, at 29th of 55 and 24th of 50 respectively, around 9% from best in each.

ADAC found a clear standing-water strength, with joint second for straight aquaplaning and eighth in bends. Its concrete wet-braking result was notably better than the main wet-braking result, 15th of 50 and 9.1% from best, so braking performance varied with the surface. The larger compromise was durability: predicted mileage of 27,100 km ranked 46th of 50, with abrasion 42nd. Cost per 1,000 km was 41st, undermining value over the predicted life. Noise was also below midfield at 34th. No award is recorded, and the aquaplaning result should not be read as evidence of equally strong wet stopping.
