Which should you buy?
Choose the Giti GitiSport S2+ if you want the stronger objective performance-for-money package-especially shorter braking (dry and usually wet), better projected longevity, and generally lower running costs. Choose the Toyo Proxes Sport 2 if your priority is a more refined, quiet, predictable daily-drive feel (and if your use case aligns more with the SUV-test profile where Toyo's wet/aquaplaning advantage was clear).

In each test the better of the two figures counts as 100% and the other as its share of it, so a 36 m stop against 34.2 m is 95%; each spoke averages the shared tests that recorded it. The scale stops at 95%: a point further in sits on the hub's edge, hollow. 8 measurements recorded in only one shared test are left off; every measurement is in the table further down.

Braking distances and lap times are better when lower; speeds, wear and grip figures when higher. A test's figures are its own: sizes, cars, surfaces and temperatures differ from one to the next, which is why the averages here are only ever of tests the two tyres shared. "Scored" rows are subjective driver ratings: each test uses its own scale, so only the wins are counted.

Toyo Proxes Sport 2
- 92%from 9 reviews
- 100%would buy again
- 88,100 milesdriven by reviewers
Drivers report the Toyo Proxes Sport 2 delivers standout performance for the price, with consistently strong dry and wet grip, high confidence at speed, and sharp, predictable handling/steering response. Many comparisons against premium competitors (Michelin/Goodyear/Continental/Bridgestone) describe the Toyo as matching or exceeding them in real-world traction and stability while offering excellent value. Wear/longevity feedback is generally very positive where reported, with several users noting robust tread life. A smaller number of drivers mention trade-offs such as limited rim-protection and a sport-tyre firmness (and occasional noise) depending on vehicle setup.
- Strong dry grip and traction
- Excellent wet grip and confidence in the rain
- Sharp handling, steering response, and stability at speed
- Predictable behavior under hard braking/cornering

All 9 Proxes Sport 2 reviewsI have had these tyres on my Audi TT 2.0 TFSI Quattro for a year and a half now and coming from an avid PS4S user I must say I'm shocked at how good these are for the money! They were about £70 per corner cheaper than the PS4S' for the TT in 255/35/19 so initially I was sceptical but I am amazing at the handling, dry AND wet grip they provide and the longevity of the tyres! I have covered a good mix of country roads, motorways and long trips across Europe in the year and a half I have had these on and they have never missed a beat! I'm so confident in the wet, even when driving very "spiritedly"! Granted they aren't as comfortable as a BluEarth GT AE51 for example but the car is lowered on coil overs so its not all the tyres fault. 10/10 would defiantly purchase again and recommend to others.

Reading the results
Written from the test results and owner reviews above. It is analysis, not a measurement: where it and the tables disagree, the tables are right.
Giti's GitiSport S2+ and Toyo's Proxes Sport 2 sit in a similar “sporty summer road tyre” space, but the shared test data shows they go about the job in notably different ways. Across four 2026 comparative tests (from UHP shootouts to a large summer braking test), the Giti repeatedly lands near the top of the table on measurable safety metrics-especially braking-while the Toyo tends to score as the calmer, more comfort-oriented option.
The headline split is this: the GitiSport S2+ is generally the stronger objective performer and the better value proposition, but it isn't consistently the best “feel” tyre. The Proxes Sport 2 is easy-going and refined (comfort/noise), and can look strong on certain handling and aquaplaning measures, yet it often gives away meaningful distance in braking and is repeatedly flagged for weaker wear/value outcomes in the big European test data.
Conclusion
Taken across the four shared tests, the Giti GitiSport S2+ is the more convincing all-round performer for drivers who prioritize measurable grip, braking safety, and running costs. It wins dry braking in all four shared tests (e.g., 34.3 m vs 34.6 m in multiple 245/45 R19 results), and is typically ahead in wet braking too-by a margin that matters in real driving (e.g., 27.2 m vs 29.5 m in the 50-tyre wet braking comparison; 42.5 m vs 46.1 m in the Autobild test). It also stands out for value and longevity where measured: Autobild projects 50,020 km for the Giti vs 38,420 km for the Toyo, alongside a markedly better value score (12.2 vs 16.4 price/1000).
The Toyo Proxes Sport 2 makes its case with refinement and predictable manners. In the UHP group test it was among the most comfortable/quiet and was described as balanced with no glaring vice, and it often wins subjective comfort and noise head-to-head (e.g., 7.3 vs 6.7 comfort points and 71.3 dB vs 71.8 dB in Autobild). It can also be competitive in dry handling speed in some formats (and is rated strongly for subjective dry handling in Autobild), and in the SUV test it clearly outperformed the Giti in wet dynamics and aquaplaning reserves. The practical takeaway: if your priority is a relaxed, refined sport tyre feel, the Toyo fits-but if you want the strongest blend of braking performance, wet safety (in passenger-car tests), and cost-per-km, the Giti is the smarter buy.

Where this data comes from
Finishing positions and measurements are transcribed from each published test. A test only counts here when both tyres ran in it, so every figure was recorded on the same car, size and day as the one it is compared to.
About the TR Score
The Tyre Reviews Score rates each tyre out of 10 from every independent test result and vetted owner review we hold, so two tyres can be compared even before a test has run them together.
Who does the testing
Every test published as a Tyre Reviews test is run by Jonathan Benson, who has been testing tyres independently since 2007.
