Michelin Energy XM2 Owner Reviews
Review this tyreWhat owners say summarised from 52 reviews
Long tread life is the Michelin Energy XM2's strongest owner theme, with 27 favourable comments and no direct complaints about life. Dry grip and comfort also lean positive, with 18 and 17 favourable mentions against three and four criticisms respectively. The 52 reviews from 51 people average 72.4%, comprising 33 positive, 16 neutral and three negative. Noise is closely divided at 17 favourable and 15 critical comments, while eight accounts describe it getting louder with use, including later-life reviews. Wet grip draws 13 positive and seven negative mentions, so confidence in rain is less consistent than the wear praise. The one repeated review is effectively unchanged and adds no separate ageing trend.

They replaced my XM1+ which lasted 100,000 kms on mostly country driving. About to instal a set on my Holden Commodore.

So with the purchase of Michelin Energy XM2 I expected to get improved Fuel Saving, quieter operation over the Optimo's.
Sad to say that I am very disappointed by the XM2's.
Fuel efficiency: No Improvement (6.1-6.3 L/100 Km before and after).
Road Noise: No Improvement
Ride: The Tyres provide a harsh ride on the kind of sealed road surfaces found at the Central Coast of NSW; and this includes the Sydney-Newcastle F3 Freeway. The tyres seem to absorb few of the minor bumps of this poorly maintained motorway.
Wet Grip : Better than the Optimos
Mileage: to early to say. I'm likely to replace these tyres before they wear out.
IMO these tyres are not worth the premium price paid
