Data updated
Which should you buy?
Choose the Hankook Ventus Evo if you want the safest, most consistently top-tier max-performance summer tyre-especially if wet braking/handling confidence is a priority and you also care about wear and overall value. The Giti GitiSport S2 plus can make sense as a budget-leaning alternative when priced aggressively and when you value its strong Autobild showing (including aquaplaning results), but its wider swing in outcomes-highlighted by the poor wet performance noted in the SUV test-makes it the higher-risk pick for frequent wet-weather or heavier-vehicle use.
Where the Ventus Evo is stronger
- Best-in-class overall performance across the shared tests (wins all 3; 1st/20 Autobild and 1st/9 SUV test)
- Stronger, more repeatable braking performance in both dry and wet (e.g., dry braking 32.8 m vs 34.3-34.5 m; wet braking advantages range from marginal in Autobild to decisive in the SUV test)
- Excellent wet handling and grip balance (wins wet handling and wet circle in shared tests; described as the strongest wet performer in the SUV test)
The bullet points are analysis of the shared tests and of owner reviews; the measured wins in each discipline are in the tables below. Where the two disagree, the figures are right.

Wins count every measurement the shared tests recorded for both tyres; a tick marks the tyre ahead on that line. Subjective driver scores count as wins but are never averaged, because each test uses its own scale.
Head to head in 3 tests in 2026
Each row is one published test in which both tyres ran on the same car, in the same size, on the same day. The line is the whole field, winner on the left.

In each test the better of the two figures counts as 100% and the other as its share of it, so a 36 m stop against 34.2 m is 95%; each spoke averages the shared tests that recorded it. 9 measurements recorded in only one shared test are left off; every measurement is in the table further down.

Braking distances and lap times are better when lower; speeds, wear and grip figures when higher. A test's figures are its own: sizes, cars, surfaces and temperatures differ from one to the next, which is why the averages here are only ever of tests the two tyres shared. "Scored" rows are subjective driver ratings: each test uses its own scale, so only the wins are counted.

Hankook Ventus Evo

- 106,316 milesdriven by reviewers
Owners rate the Hankook Ventus Evo very highly overall, with most praising strong dry and wet grip that inspires confidence. A clear majority also highlight low road noise and a comfortable, compliant ride for an everyday performance tyre. The main drawback is steering feel: around one in three owners say it lacks initial feedback or sharpness versus premium rivals, even if outright grip remains strong.
- Very strong dry grip
- Very strong wet grip
- Generally quiet at speed
- Comfortable, compliant ride
- Steering feel lacks feedback/initial bite for some drivers
- Can be a bit noisy on certain surfaces or at particular speeds
- Ride can feel slightly firm on low-profile fitments

All 24 Ventus Evo reviewsI bought set of these in SUV version to replace OEM worn-out Bridgestone Dueller tyres. The Hankooks were one of few options available in size for Lexus RX and the price was very good. Obviously, they are sport-biased, not intended for a comfortable relaxed SUV. Their grip both in dry and wet is perfect, steering precise. But, they are not the choice for maximum comfort and silence. Winter set (Conti 870P) in the same size are significantly quieter and more comfortable. However, these tyres are a smart choice- good price, peak safety and also good wear- after 20000km stil about 4-5mm. I would buy them again, but not for RX.

Reading the results
Written from the test results and owner reviews above. It is analysis, not a measurement: where it and the tables disagree, the tables are right.
Both the Giti GitiSport S2 plus and the Hankook Ventus Evo sit in the same bracket on paper: max-performance summer tyres aimed at drivers who want sharp steering response, strong braking, and confident high-speed stability. The interesting part of this matchup is that they've faced each other across three shared 2026 tests (including a large-group Autobild test and an SUV-focused summer test), giving a clear picture of repeatable strengths rather than a one-off result.
Conclusion
Across the shared 2026 tests, the Hankook Ventus Evo is the more consistently high-performing tyre-and it converts that into results: 3 wins out of 3 shared tests, including 1st/20 in the Autobild summer test and 1st/9 in the summer SUV test. Its edge is most meaningful where it matters most for safety and confidence: braking and wet grip. For example, in the SUV test Hankook's wet braking is 50.2 m vs Giti's 60.1 m (nearly 10 metres shorter), plus stronger wet handling (89.1 vs 83.8 km/h) and better aquaplaning metrics overall in that test.

Where this data comes from
Finishing positions and measurements are transcribed from each published test. A test only counts here when both tyres ran in it, so every figure was recorded on the same car, size and day as the one it is compared to.
About the TR Score
The Tyre Reviews Score rates each tyre out of 10 from every independent test result and vetted owner review we hold, so two tyres can be compared even before a test has run them together.
Who does the testing
Every test published as a Tyre Reviews test is run by Jonathan Benson, who has been testing tyres independently since 2007.
