The new Hankook impressed with consistently strong wet-weather performance, earning third overall despite no outright wins. It was within a metre of the leader in wet braking and excelled on the wet handling circuit, combining grip, braking, traction, and composure for a lap just 0.2 seconds off the best. It also claimed second in both aquaplaning tests. Dry results were less competitive, with sixth in braking and seventh in handling, lacking the grip and precision of the leaders. Refinement was a highlight, with low cabin noise and good bump absorption, though rolling resistance was only average.
The Hankook Ventus Evo K137 delivered convincing driving dynamics with secure handling and the shortest braking distances in wet conditions at 42.7 meters from 100 km/h. It performed excellently in dry handling tests with the highest average speed of 120.9 km/h around the test track. The tyre showed good mileage at over 41,000 kilometers and reasonable rolling resistance, offering good all-round cost performance. This consistent performance across all test criteria, particularly its outstanding wet and dry handling, earned it an "exemplary" rating.

Overall sentiment toward the Hankook Ventus Evo is strongly positive. Most drivers praise its high mechanical grip in dry and especially wet conditions, confident braking, stability, low noise, and good comfort-often comparing it favorably to Michelin PS4, Goodyear Asymmetric, and Bridgestone. Given 74% while driving a MINI JCW 2020 (235/35 R19) on mostly country roads for 13,000 spirited miles
Brilliant tyre performance on Schnitzer wheels / suspension. Tyre wear = as expected.
PROBLEM = never had so many punctures / need to reset tyre pressures using this tyre brand - over 7000 miles in 2 years.
I have driven sport cars for 40 years - tyres mostly Pirelli, Michelin or (in earlier years) Goodyear , until this Hankook tyre.
QU: please can I ask why you did not consider Hankook in your 2025 best performance tyre test ?
Schnitzer recommend Falcon for its Mini JCW F56 wheel - but I think I am going to go with Pirelli, having read your 2025 review

I'm not sure the Hankook was available at the time of starting the test. I will be testing it ASAP.
Given 100% while driving a Hyundai Kona N (235/40 R19) on a combination of roads for 6 spirited miles
Just had 2 of these fitted to my Hyundai Kona N replacing the front oem Pirelli's which lasted just over 8K miles. Big difference just in the drive home. No chance to assess performance in the wet, but the steering feels softer, there's improved feedback from the front, and the ride is more comfortable as well. The rear oem Pirelli's have plenty of life in them so will keep them on for time being, but will upgrade to the Hankooks once tyre life has been reached. Very pleased with the purchase.

Given 92% while driving a Alfa Romeo MiTo (215/40 R18) on mostly country roads for 250 spirited miles
My initial impressions of the Hankook Ventus EVO are very positive. At the time of writing, this tyre has just launched. Its launch coincided with the previous summer tyres (Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2) on my Alfa Romeo Mito QV warranting replacement due to some cracking on the sidewall (Dunlops were coming up on 6 years of age but still would’ve had tread for 1 or 2 summers more). The above, combined with getting a good deal on them, meant I chose to give these Hankooks a try.

The size is a bit of an unusual one, and therefore the price of this set, compared to a set of 225-section width A-brand tyres, is quite a bit higher. Of the A-tier brands that offer their latest tyre model in the 215-section width tyres (not all brands do…), Hankook was by far the best deal for me.

I’ve mounted the tyres after work and immediately went for a little evening (cooler temps around 10 °C) back-road blast. The amount of grip these tyres have impressed me right away. Compared to the Dunlops I’ve had on before, the Hankook’s compound feels softer and construction a touch more compliant. Therefore, the grip, both directionally and laterally, feels much more impressive. The tyre is quieter, and the ride is more comfortable. Braking feels very strong, as well as giving good feedback. If I may nit-pick, the steering response, I do experience as a touch slower. If one drives (close to) the speed limit, I’d doubt this would be of any bother at all.

Although I’ve tried many tyres in my life before, I do not have the data bank of Jonathan. I hope he gets to try them soon and share his experiences. Personally, I’d imagine that these tyres are amongst some of the best available. I know they’ve really impressed me personally.

Note: these are my initial impressions after just two days commuting and two back-road blasts (ca. 400 kms total). I will monitor the wear, performance in different conditions and update my review where possible.

Given 64% while driving a Tesla Model S (245/35 R21) on a combination of roads for 20,000 easy going miles
I fitted these front tires to my Tesla Model S Performance Ludicrous in November 2024. Despite driving quietly, without excess, these tires are already worn out and this after less than 20,000 km and less than a year. They are much worse than the ones that were originally fitted, namely Michelins.
The driving feel is pleasant but without any real big change if I compare them with the previous mounts. In conclusion, I would say that the tire is expensive and not very resistant to use. Its lifespan seems quite short compared to other brands. I ordered new tires from another brand because this one does not fully fulfill its mission.

Given 93% while driving a Ford Fiesta ST X (205/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 3,000 spirited miles
I have bought a Fiesta ST-X in 2023 and the car was OEM fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4. From the beginning on the Michelins have had problems with the mechanical grip. I know the car is not that heavy (1199 kg) and the 320 Nm will not help also but this has been compleelty solved by fitting the Hankooks Evo 4, unbelievable how much mechanical grip they have. Now I have sometimes mega oversteer :-) with the rear fitted Michelin's PS4(approx 33000 kms old). The Hankooks are also quiter. The road feedback is a little less but the Fiesta gives plenty of signals so it is a big pleasure to drive spirited also with the Hankooks. Fuel consumption seems to be bit better too, but hey I drive a GTI. Overall I am very pleased by the choice of the Hankooks.

Check out how the BEST all seasons tyres perform against premium summer and winter tyres!
Given 75% while driving a Alfa Romeo 156 SW 1.9 JTD (235/40 R19) on mostly country roads for 1,200 average miles
Bought these to replace Kormoran UHP.

Wanted a "top 5" tyre, but at the best price as possible. Came over Hankook ventus Evo, as a good allrounder option. Compared with the usual Ps5, Asymetric 6, and Premium contact 6/7, Pirelli C7 cf3, the hankook at least in norway came at a better price. I have not yet tested evo s1 or evo s3. I am not sure where the Ventus evo sits between the prime and S1 series performance wise. Maybe between those two.

I am not to say the Ventus Evos are better than any of the other mentioned options. But for what they replaced the difference is night and day! And for myself and 95% of other drivers, we wont be able to tell much difference betweens these evos and any of the other premium brands. This is how good the top tyres are nowadays. I earlier have had premium contact 6 and primacy 4 on my cars for reference. The hankooks are more comfortable than both of those, but maybe not the same initial steering response than the contis. But at normal driving, you will never notice.

The upside are as mentioned; comfort, a solid, even handling caracteristic, maybe the best wet grip i have ever felt. The abs almost dont interfear anymore when panic-braking at wet surface! In norway with over 300 rain days per year, that means a lot!

The other positive are rolling resistance. The car glides like ive never felt before, better than contis and michelin, and heaps better than the kormoran, wich felt like driving with the brakes on.

The sidewall looks the best, on par with pilot sport series. And a nice, subtle rim protector also.

Have not tested wear yet, but normally in norway tyres get changed because of age before wear, because of the extra winter set and the low speeds/cold clima. We dont wear out tyres as fast as in the warm, high speed countries. I suspect wear will not be an issue for me.

All in all a great tyre and i mabye have forund my go-to, allround tyre in the Hankook Ventus Evo !

Strongly recommed this.

Given 93% while driving a Mazda 3 SkyactiV (225/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 200 spirited miles
This is just an initaial review. I fitted them 1,5 weeks ago since then I have driven in every road condition. In the dry it is perfect compared to my previous Bridgestone Turanza. Lot of grip and the steering is predictable but not with the most feedback. That is not a problem for me. During the corners the car is so stable and i took every one with ease, it is so fun. The biggest upgrade from the Bridgestones is the wet performance. Driving swiftly is so easy with these tires, in the corners there is no slipping or anything like that. My car is FWD and ZERO understeer during wet cornering also on older bad tarmac. For braking, i had to stop quickly only one time. It was safe and that is the most important thing for me. Aquaplaning performance also very impressive, you can go through the water without any slip or “swimming”. Compared to my winter set which is a 205/60 R16 the comfort is also great in my opinion. On my previous car I had the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 and on my fathers car there were a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4. Both of them were pretty good tires and this Hankook evo is in the same league as the PS4 and the Asymmetric 5. Next year i will write a long term review about wear and worn performance. I would recommend this Hankooks for everyone who is looking for a great everyday tire with sporty driving characteristics and i think for hot hatches like a Hyundai i20N or more powerful vehicles it also a great choice.

Given 90% while driving a Alfa Romeo MiTo (215/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 1,250 spirited miles
This is a short update to my initial review (submitted on April 4, 2025). I only submitted a wet grip score this time. Had a few more commutes and a roundtrip to Germany of well over 1,000 kms. On the wet grip, drove on an absolutely flooded German Autobahn (windshield wipers struggled to keep up), and it was steady as you'd like. Lost grip for the first time taking a wet round-about at a irresponsibly high speed (no-one around to hurt but the car). Even then, I was impressed on how long it took to lose grip.

Overall, I have driven on these tyres over 2,000 kilometres by now. Very impressed with them. Maybe not the most sport-biased tyre available (steering feel, “soft” & silent), but very grippy in both dry & wet, and they inspire loads of confidence. Can recommend to anyone as an everyday ‘sportier’ tyre.

Given 90% while driving a Tesla Model S (245/45 R19) on a combination of roads for 1,000 spirited miles
Took a bit of a gamble on going for these brand new Hankooks, with only half a review/test out when I ordered them. Chose them anyway since I was very pleasantly surprised with how well the S1 EVO 3 that came with my previous Tesla handled. I'm indeed very happy I went with these, they are -very- quiet and offer excellent grip in both dry and wet conditions. Handling under high load/speed is excellent too. The only thing they lack a bit is road feedback compared to the Michelin PS4 they replaced when not pushing on them, but my car ain't that great on that front anyway.
