Data updated
Which should you buy?
Choose the Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 if you want the more dependable all-rounder, with consistently shorter dry braking and frequent overall wins in Auto Zeitung 2026, Auto Express 2026 and Die Reifentester 2026. Choose the Nokian Seasonproof 2 if your driving is dominated by heavy rain and standing water and you also care about rolling resistance, but be prepared for weaker dry performance and more variable behaviour depending on size and car, as highlighted in Tyre Reviews' 2026/27 test.
Where the Seasonproof 2 is stronger
- Strong wet handling and lateral grip in several tests, for example fastest wet handling and wet circle in Auto Bild 2026 and Auto Bild Allrad 2026.
- Repeated aquaplaning resistance strengths, including leading both aquaplaning tests in Auto Express 2026 and a clear curved-aquaplaning advantage in Auto Bild Allrad 2026.
- Often lower rolling resistance than the Pirelli, including Auto Bild 2026, Auto Express 2026 and Auto Zeitung 2026.
Where the Cinturato All Season SF3 is stronger
- Consistently shorter dry braking than the Nokian in every shared test that measured it, such as Auto Zeitung 2026 and Auto Express 2026.
- Strong overall balance and high overall placings, winning Auto Zeitung 2026, Auto Express 2026 and Die Reifentester 2026.
- Stronger wear and abrasion results in the tests that measured them, for example Auto Zeitung 2026, Auto Bild 2026 and ADAC 2026.
The bullet points are analysis of the shared tests and of owner reviews; the measured wins in each discipline are in the tables below. Where the two disagree, the figures are right.

In each test the better of the two figures counts as 100% and the other as its share of it, so a 36 m stop against 34.2 m is 95%; each spoke averages the shared tests that recorded it. The scale stops at 92%: a point further in sits on the hub's edge, hollow. 9 measurements recorded in only one shared test are left off; every measurement is in the table further down.

Braking distances and lap times are better when lower; speeds, wear and grip figures when higher. A test's figures are its own: sizes, cars, surfaces and temperatures differ from one to the next, which is why the averages here are only ever of tests the two tyres shared. "Scored" rows are subjective driver ratings: each test uses its own scale, so only the wins are counted.

All 21 Seasonproof 2 reviewsAfter installing the Seasonproof 1 and being happy with it, I decided to put on the Seasonproof 2 and it has improved a lot... good performance in water, they provide safety and are very comfortable... they are not sports tyres, but in water they provide safety... I don't know how they perform in snow... silent just like the Seasonproof 1... happy ☺ so far good wear.

All 73 Cinturato All Season SF3 reviewsGreat tires! In autumn and winter conditions, I found them better than the Continental TS860 in mud and snow, but worse on ice.
In summer, compared with the Continental PremiumContact 6, they offered better aquaplaning resistance, but slightly worse wet grip and overall handling. Lateral stability was by far their weakest point compared with my old Conti.
These were my first all-season tires, a bit of a gamble for me, but overall, I would recommend them. After 40,000 km over two years, they are showing some wear, so I plan to replace them by 50,000 km to stay on the safe side. My original plan was to use them for 40,000–60,000 km and less than four years.

Reading the results
Written from the test results and owner reviews above. It is analysis, not a measurement: where it and the tables disagree, the tables are right.
These two all-season tyres have been compared head to head in 10 independent tests: Auto Bild's 2026 all-season test, Auto Bild's 2026 30-tyre braking test, Auto Bild Allrad's 2026 SUV all-season test, Auto Motor und Sport 2026 (195/55 R16), Auto Zeitung 2026, Auto Express 2026, Tyre Reviews' “Best All Season Tyres for 2026/27”, Die Reifentester 2026, ADAC 2026 (185/65 R15), and a 2025 TÜV SÜD test commissioned for Nokian's certification.
Across those shared tests the headline is clear: the Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 lands near the top far more often and takes most overall wins, mainly on dry grip, wet braking and general balance. The Nokian Seasonproof 2 counters with repeated strengths in wet handling style tests, aquaplaning resistance, and often lower rolling resistance, but its dry performance and wear are more variable, and its snow results swing depending on the test.
Conclusion
Look at the results as a whole and the Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 is the more consistently high-ranking tyre. It beats the Nokian on dry braking in every shared test that measured it, typically by about 3 to 9% (for example Auto Zeitung 2026 and Auto Express 2026), and it is usually the stronger tyre for wet braking too, as seen in Auto Bild 2026 and Auto Express 2026. It also tends to score well for refinement, with Auto Bild 2026 calling it among the quieter and more comfortable tyres, and it repeatedly shows strong predicted mileage and low abrasion in Auto Zeitung 2026, Auto Bild 2026 and ADAC 2026. The one recurring caveat is winter performance at the very sharp end, where several tests describe it as a step behind the best on snow, and there are a couple of notable snow-braking weak showings (Auto Bild Allrad 2026 and Auto Express 2026), even if other tests show it more competitive.
The Nokian Seasonproof 2's strongest pattern is wet-road speed and water management, just not always in the same way. In Auto Bild 2026 and Auto Bild Allrad 2026 it is quickest on wet handling and wet circle style tests, and it also posts very strong aquaplaning results, including a big advantage in curved aquaplaning in Auto Bild Allrad 2026. ADAC 2026 and Auto Express 2026 also back up the aquaplaning strength, and ADAC adds an outright wet braking win. On efficiency, Nokian often has the edge on rolling resistance (Auto Bild 2026, Auto Express 2026, Auto Zeitung 2026, AMS 2026, and the TÜV 2025 test). The drawbacks are that it regularly trails on dry braking and often on dry handling, and multiple tests flag wear or abrasion as weaker (Auto Bild 2026, Auto Zeitung 2026, ADAC 2026). Tyre Reviews' 2026/27 test is also a warning sign for feel and stability in that 225/40 R18 fitment, describing slow response and unsettled behaviour even though the wet lap time was quick, which suggests the Nokian can be more size and vehicle sensitive.
If you want the safer all-round bet across a wide spread of cars and test formats, the Pirelli's combination of braking, balanced handling and consistently good overall placings makes it easier to recommend. If your priorities are heavy rain, standing water and efficiency, and you are comfortable accepting weaker dry results and more mixed feedback depending on fitment, the Nokian's wet handling and aquaplaning strengths still make sense, especially in very wet climates.
