For enthusiastic drivers subjective handling, as in how this tyre reacts to steering, how balanced the tyre is, and how much ability you have to adjust things mid-corner, is often more important than outright grip. In this test I take eight of the very best ultra ultra high performance summer tyres and put them through my usual array of dry, wet, noise, comfort, and rolling resistance testing but with a heavy focus on subjective handling to find out which tyre will make you feel the happiest when driving!

For the first of three tyre review summer tyre tests this year, I've tested 12 sets of tyres in 225/45/17 using a Volkswagen Golf GTI. 

All 12 sets of tyres were purchased in the open market anonymously. As always, they have been tested in the dry, wet, noise, comfort, and rolling resistance tests to find out exactly which tyre is best for your own driving needs. 

Three of the most popular all-terrain tyres on the market go head-to-head in a comprehensive on-road, off-road, and winter comparison. Despite sharing the same LT 275/65R18 Load Range E sizing and severe snow rating, the BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3, Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascent Enlighten, and Cooper Discoverer Stronghold A/T each target distinctly different buyers — and our testing confirms just how different they really are.

For this test I have taken five of the most popular snow-rated all-terrain tyres in LT 265/70 R17 and tested them in snow and ice to find out which one is best for the upcoming winter!

In order to give you the complete picture, each tyre has been tested and rated in snow handling, snow circle, snow traction and braking, and ice traction and braking!

The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 has been a benchmark all-terrain tyre thanks to its excellent comfort, low road noise, strong off-road traction and outstanding snow performance. Pirelli’s brand-new Scorpion XTM arrives with bold claims that it matches or outperforms the KO3 across dry, wet, snow, mud and grass, while improving rolling resistance and steering response. I set out to see how those claims stack up with back-to-back subjective testing on-road and off-road.

I've performed the world's first test of the new Michelin CrossClimate 3 and CrossClimate 3 Sport all season tyres, putting them up against two of the leading competitors, the multiple test winning Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 and the excellent dry and wet focused Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6.

As always I've tested them in the dry, wet, noise and comfort, and I have rolling resistance and snow data to show you exactly how the two new Michelins compare to some of the best competition in the segment.

In this test I will finally compare the new Hoosier TrackAttack Pro to the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R and the Bridgestone Potenza RE71RS on a track AND autocross course.

Michelin has just unveiled not one but two exciting new additions to their all-season tyre lineup: the CrossClimate 3 and the all-new CrossClimate 3 Sport. While the CrossClimate 3 represents an evolution of the much loved CrossClimate 2, the CrossClimate 3 Sport is a completely new offering aimed at drivers of sportier vehicles who still want all-season versatility.

Having spent a week testing both new tyres alongside the CrossClimate 2, I can explain how these new models perform, and what improvements Michelin has made to their already impressive all-season range.

There's only one way to find out - testing!

To find out if the new PZ5 is as good as Pirelli claim, I have tested it against all the tyres mentioned above, and the Falken Azenis FK520 and a budget tyre. I've put all seven sets of tyres through dry and wet testing, and I've looked into the noise, comfort and rolling resistance levels of each set of tyres to ensure you have all the information needed to make the correct purchase decision. 

There's a new comfort bias summer tyre to market, the Pirelli Cinturato C3! To see how good the new tyre really is, I've tested it against some of its key rivals from Michelin and Continental. I've also added some new tyres I've not tested before. 

As usual, all the tyres in this test will be tested in the dry and wet, and I'll be assessing the comfort, noise, and rolling resistance (energy use) of the tyres to give you a complete overview of which tyre is best.

The all weather category of tyres is quickly growing in popularity, as a tyre that can be used in all weathers is a big advantage for people living in snowy climates, it saves changing tyres twice a year between an all season and a winter product.

To find out which of these new all weather category tyres is best, I have tested them in the dry, wet, snow and ice to give you a really good overview of their abilities, and also looked into the the rolling resistance, comfort, noise levels and value, to find out which tyre is best in all conditions.

In the world of high-performance tyres, Hoosier has long been a name synonymous with speed and grip. Recently, we had the opportunity to put three of their top offerings to the test at the BMW driving school, using an M4 GT4 race car as our platform. The tyres in question? The Hoosier R7, a medium compound Hoosier slick, and the new Hoosier Track Attack Pro. Each brought its own unique characteristics to the track, and the results were nothing short of impressive.

In this test I've taken five of the most popular aggressive all terrain tyres for SUVs and trucks, and tested them offroad, in the dry, wet, and snow, and spent time assessing noise and comfort levels to help you pick the best all terrain tyre for your vehicle.

In this test, we selected 6 of the best ultra-high-performance winter tyres, and compared them against all-season and summer tyres to reveal their true capabilities. We evaluated their performance in dry, wet, snow, and ice conditions, along with comfort, noise, and rolling resistance. The results were remarkably close, and the data from the all season and summer tyres is really interesting.

This is the 2024/25 Tyre Reviews All Season Tyre Test! For this test, I have selected six of the best all season tyres in the large 235/35 R19 tyre size, and I'm using a MK8 VW Golf GTI to find out exactly which all season tyre is best in the larger wheel size.

To give this test extra depth, I also have six ultra high performance winter tyres in exactly the same size, and I've included a summer tyre. With this relatively small test field I've managed to test everything as one test, which means a common control allowing us to cross reference the data. This has shown us how the very best all season tyres compare to the very best summer and winter tyres in the snow, ice, dry and wet. There's some really interesting insight into how the all season tyres compare to the other categories below.

For the longest time the Michelin CrossClimate 2 has been the best all season / all weather tyre on the market, winning more tests than any other tyres in its category, including my tests for the last 3 years!

However, since last year's test there have been not one, not two, but three new premium all season tyres launched, all looking to dethrone the CrossClimate 2 from its category top spot. 

Naturally I had to find out whether any of these new tyres from Bridgestone, Continental and Pirelli can match the Michelin, so as usual I'll be testing everything, including wear, to see which is best! And I've also thrown in a couple of tyres Dunlop and Yokohama, because why not.

Can any of these new tyres really challenge the CrossClimate 2, or are they all going to be left wanting for more?

We recently tested three of Bridgestone's highest performance tyres back-to-back on track and road: the Potenza Sport, the new Potenza Race, and the track-focused RE71 RS. Testing was conducted on a Honda Civic SI in temperatures reaching 95°F (35°C).
