2013 Test World Summer Tyre Test P10 of 13

The Barum has acceptable results in the wet, thanks to its predictable reactions and balance behaviors they allow you to make a quick lap time. However, in an emergency, these tyres behave nervously and can dramatically lose traction on the rear axle. During quick maneuvers on dry pavement, the Barum respond too slowly, and the braking distance is one of the longest in the test. The Barum also gladly informs the driver of the road bumps, and they were also unable to compete with the leaders during the rolling resistance test.

Performance Analysis

Drawn from 5 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.

The Barum Bravuris 2 generally finished below midfield across five tests, with value and rolling resistance more convincing than handling. It was 8th of 9 in the 2012 Autoreview Touring Tyre Test and 9th of 15 in the 2012 Auto Bild Max Performance Tyre Test. Both praised low rolling resistance and price, but noted sluggish responses or understeer. The 2011 Finnish ECO Touring Tyre Test placed it 10th of 15, praised rolling resistance and found no major weakness, despite average wet performance.

Test World placed it 10th of 13 in 2013 and found an unusual rolling-resistance weakness against the otherwise favourable pattern. Acceptable wet laps and predictable balance contrasted with nervous emergency behaviour and a sudden loss of rear traction. Dry responses were slow, dry braking among the longest, and bumps were noticeable. Aquaplaning also varied: Auto Bild praised it in 225/45 R17, whereas Autoreview criticised it in 205/55 R16. The separate 2013 54 Tyre Braking Test placed it 27th of 54 but adds no discipline detail. No award is recorded. The record favours price and often efficiency, with less consistent support for comfort, wet behaviour or quick dry responses.
