Pirelli P Zero Owner Reviews

Review this tyre

What owners say summarised from 154 reviews

Across 154 reviews, the Pirelli P Zero earns mixed feedback: drivers most often praise its strong dry grip, sharp cornering ability, and confident high-speed performance when temperatures are warm. However, many report fast/uneven wear for the price, along with frequent complaints of weak or unpredictable wet/cold traction that can undermine confidence. Noise/harshness and occasional tramlining or vibration/balance issues also come up regularly, making the P Zero feel best suited to warm-weather performance use rather than year-round driving in wet, cold climates.

Had a full set of these fitted and instantly noticed increased understeer (it even felt as if the sidewall was bending under lateral forces). The fronts lasted only 4000 miles before they were right down to the treadwear indicator! The rears however have lasted much longer ( the Golf being front wheel drive),however, after taking the car in for the 40,000 mile service , I had mentioned to my mechanic about a possible rear wheel bearing issue only to be told that the inner shoulders of both tyres are ridged (think a beer bottle top)! The rears I should mention have done approx 15,000 miles , but even so for a flagship tyre I found this unacceptable, not to mention cracking on the shoulder and in the grooves.Cant wait to get them off and fit Goodyear Eagle assym 2s to match the front. If you are looking for a premium brand...look elsewhere.

i had a hard time finding the Pirelli P-Zero , everyone i tried kept getting in P-zero rosso or P-zero nero , but i was adament that i want the just Pirelli P-Zero , after reading all the good test results i was expecting a good tyre and boy did it deliver , the precision of this tyre is mind boggling , it gives such a good feel through the steering and the grip is just immense , it rides very well for a Max performance tyre and is far more comfortable and quieter than the Goodyear Eagle F-1 Asymmetrics i had previously , all in all a truely excellent tyre , and belongs in a different league to the p-zero rosso and nero , which are mediocre in comparison

Overall grippy tyre, but seem to be noisy (though getting near end of life)and fuel consumption not good - I'm only getting 50 mpg but with Avon ZZ3's I was getting 55 mpg.

Loads on grip in normal road conditions although in cold weather they seem to loose a fair bit of this grip (in fact they're rubbish in winter). They definitely do a good job of putting my 210BHP to the road but for the price (£230/tyre) I expected perhaps a little more. I have had other tyres previously that offer almost as much grip for a much smaller price tag.

Excellent tyres (excluding winter) but a little too expensive

A very good tyre in the dry, not so good in the wet. Hopeless on snow, so don't even try. It perfoms very good on highways, not so good on country roads. I live on the Norwegian west coast and get a lot of rain and the roads are not that good, so I would look to buy a tyre with better wet performance.

Quick to wear, and difficult to keep balanced. Otherwise good.

Nothing to complain about except trying to keep them balanced and wear is quite quick.

Great tyre with amazing levels of grip in the dry or wet would buy again if it wasnt for the poor wear rate it looks like i will only get around 12k miles out of the fronts, not good enough when its mostly motorway driving. The same motorway driving got 20k out of Goodyear F1's

The car car originally came fitted with some Falken RE 452 - I have never driver a car that tramlined so badly - I never felt in control of the car on the motorway / B-roads and couldn't wait to get them off the car. Since then I've been running P-Zero Rosso's which I have been very pleased with, each pair getting between 16-19k. I decided to try the new P-Zero's and have had them on the car for 2months now and they have had everything thrown at them. They are superb in the wet - I haven't felt the car want to aquaplane through standing water which is probably due to the wide radial grooves on the tyres. They haven't done too bad in the snow, however like all summer tyres in snow, once you're stuck that's it! Dry grip is slightly better than the Rosso's (my last pair I wore right down to the limit and did fell a bit nervous in the wet when pushed too hard).

On the the good A roads / and motorways I would say they are quieter than the Rosso's and I am pleased with them so far. If I get the same sort of wear rate as the Rosso's then I will be pleased - just have to wait and see.
