Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta Reviews - Page 12

Given 84% while driving a Audi quattro (255/35 R19 W) on a combination of roads for 29 spirited miles
These replaced my Audi A6's continental contisport contact 3 and can say with 100% you will not be dissapointed , great in the wet and dry, road noise much better that the conti and much cheaper at £175 each. If my local fitter had these they would be going on again but all can get at short notice is michelin pilot sport 2.

Given 93% while driving a SEAT Ibiza FR 1.4 TSI (215/40 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 250 spirited miles
I've had a variety of tyres in the past from cheap to premium including Bridgestone, Pirelli and Continental. These tyres are by far the best. The traction in the dry is great and in the wet it's even better. The tyres feel solid and are very smooth round corners with very little noise in comparison to my old P7s. The high rim is also great as it provides a little extra alloy protection. I haven't yet done thousands of miles but I've done about 250 and the pimples are still there. It did take a good 100 or so to wear them in so have a little patience when you first get them. I just have 2 on the front at the moment but for the 1st time I'm actually looking forward to replacing my rears next year. Until now its been quite hard to get good grip off the line from my 220bhp front wheel drive car. Would I buy again... YES!

Check out how the BEST all seasons tyres perform against premium summer and winter tyres!
Given 90% while driving a Maserati GranSport (275/30 R19) on a combination of roads for 10 spirited miles
Used these tyres on both my Maserati's gransport and a 4200, i dont compromise on brakes and tyres , been through 3 sets of 4 with 35K miles and 6 trackdays , they are the best , ive had michelins and pirelli's and the vreds are definately the best by quite a margin

Given 77% while driving a Vauxhall Zafira GSI (225/45 R17) on mostly country roads for 6,000 spirited miles
Good front tyres with good grip for both dry and wet conditions, next to Michelins probably the best fronts I've ever used.
Also have these as rears on my wife's lexus sc430.
Wear isn't that great and a non repairable puncture meant I had to relagate to the Rear - when I switch back to summer tyres next year I'll be putting these back on the front.
These tyres are good value compared to say a michelin, possibly 30% cheaper so the wear/price balance makes them a good investment.

Given 67% while driving a Volkswagen Golf Mk4 1.9 GTTDi (225/45 R17) on mostly town for 5,000 average miles
I bought these tyres based on the reviews here. Everything everyone else says is true of these tyres. The grip, the look, the style are all supurb! The Sultana's weak spot is wear. I think I've done around 5K on my fronts and the wear indicators are fast approaching. I don't push the car hard often, and most of my driving is done commuting to work, which is a steady 10 mile drive into the city. I'd love to say I'd buy these again but with wear like its going out of fashion and at around £100 per tyre I'm gonna look around.

Given 85% while driving a Vauxhall Astra VXR (235/35 R19) on a combination of roads for 500 spirited miles
Have had these tyres put on the front of my astra after my Conti's had covered 20k and ready for changing.

First impressions were abit poor, but stick with it! after about 200 miles and the tyres had bedded in they came to life! THey are an absolute awsome tyre! dry grip is second to none and the wet grip is pretty good aswell.

Overall a brilliant tyre and definitly something i would seriously consider in the future.

Given 81% while driving a BMW E46 330D Sport (225/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 0 spirited miles
Excellant tyres, just a shame on the wear. fitted same day front and back. backs still a bit of wear left but fronts gone after 8000m. that was a lot of dual carrageway motoring with some nice a roads.

Given 66% while driving a Volvo S60 R AWD (235/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 10,000 average miles
I have had fitted for about a year now, I have heard great things about them and on the road they feel really strong with a strong wall of 95. The pot holes in the uk are terrible so we need a strong tyre wall to protect our rim and car itself.

The tread pattern is very pretty, its half block and half summer, so make an all round good tyre for all seasons. In the wet the car handles great, very responsive tread gives good direction. However I have always liked the Goodyear and it has not beaten the grip and road feel of the Eagle F1 GSD3 and the road stability of the assymmentric.

If you have 4 wheel drive and you drive spirited then your tyres can get eaten very quickly. I am down to 3mm and am looking for another set of tyres to try. I am going to try the Yokahama Advant Sport as I have had recommendations on this as for a review I shall post it up as usual.

Back to the Vredestein. Its a good tyre if you are a normal driver who takes it easy, then these shall last longer. I look for products which can handle the heat and last. A rare compound to find I guess. If they would have lasted longer then I would have been happier. But don't be deterred its a good tyre, its just not for my driving needs.

Great look and feel again just doesn't last too long.

Given 86% while driving a BMW 135i (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 5,000 spirited miles
Have only Driven 5,000 miles on them but i can honestly say they are a great tyre, i had the run flat tyres on before, i hated them, just did not feel in control of the beast, now the ride/comfort is better plus the grip is outstanding, the price is good to. will buy again

Given 99% while driving a BMW E39 M5 (275/35 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 17,000 spirited miles
I first purchased these about 4 years ago on my RX8 after reading some good reviews on the owners website and I was astonished at how good they we're, completely transformed the car. Since then I have always purchased these tyres. I now own a BMW M5 e39 and have fitted these tyres all round and again I noticed an amazing transformation.

I am a big car fan and have experimented with many different tyres over the years and I can honestly say these are BY FAR the best tyres money can buy regardless of price.

I recommend these to anyone who asks which tyre to buy and have always brilliant reports back.

Just remember they cover the tyre in a protective coating so the first couple of hundred miles are very slippery..

Given 77% while driving a Alfa Romeo GT Cloverleaf Q2 (225/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 1,000 average miles
Replaced the Pirrellis on my Alfa GT Cloverleaf Q2 after 26000 miles with the Sessantas. The car has a mechanical limited slip differntial and this probably helps with tyre life as it doesn't easily spin its wheels.
The Sessantas have about the same dry weather grip as the P Zeros but seem better in the we. Handling is more proggressive and both ride comfort and noise levels are improved. An important point is the Sessantas have a built in fender to protect the normally exposed alloy rims - well worth having.

Given 96% while driving a Vauxhall (225/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 0 spirited miles
Just fitted a full set of these to my Astra after reading all the good reviews that this tyre gets. I cant belive how they have completely transformed my car!!! Before it used to understeer when cornering hard but not anymore feels very stable indeed, very impressed with them to say the least!! They are also a very supple tyre & smooth out all the bumps in the road too. I have only driven 100 miles on them so far, so I'm sure they will continue to improve once broken in fully. Looking forward to putting them through there paces on some wet roads next...
