Driving on a combination of roads for 4000 spirited miles
used for about 6000km always without saving anything. very aggressive driving style but with a 48hp bike.
degradation increases significantly on days with temperatures in the 40s. on colder days they take a few km before coming up to temperature.

I’ve installed this tyre on two of my bikes with strong engine braking, the front tyre feels sketchy and most of my mate at least on one occasion said that they almost lost the front tyre, the rear tyre squares off after 2.5k kms and has almost no grip on the middle strip. I’ll never buy this tyre again and give Michelin thumb down on this failure. I have the Power GP on one of my bikes and I take my hat for it, I hope Michelin have improved the Power 6 tyre otherwise I’ll be only using Power GP for now.

Writing about the Metzeler Sportec M9 RR given NAN% (225-45-17-)
Driving on mostly country roads for 0 spirited miles
Due to covid and delivery and an overdueMOT (TÜV here in Germany) I really didn’t have much choice in tyres - read good reviews and so let the dealer (also the metzler local retailer) fit them for the MOT Instantly changed the character of the MT07 from a flickable loon bouncing in corners due to soft suspension to a squirmy unsure slidey thing that won’t hold a corner and is hard as a rock. It now falls into corners as opposed to rolling predictably. Update: when fully warm they behave better but the linear fall in to a corner is horrendous it’s like the head bearings are too loose. Perhaps on a heavier bike but I would advise against these on an MT07 way too hard n heavy.

Writing about the Metzeler Roadtec 01 SE given 70% (180-55-17-W)

Replaced my Spirit ST’s with Metzeler Roadtec 01 SE and now regret it. The Roadtecs look good and have excellent reviews but they are too hard and too heavy - they ride like they’re filled with concrete. The SE (Sports Edition) version of the Roadtecs are not sporty. I found Avon Spirit ST to be better tyres. Those are grippy and durable but also relatively lightweight and more compliant over uneven road surfaces. If you only ever ride on brand new tarmac then Roadtecs might be OK. If you enjoy the occasional rip around some twisty B roads or just want a smoother ride then Avon Spirit ST’s are a much better choice. They outperform Roadtecs, cost less and are made in the UK.

These tires transformed the ride on my Yamaha 700. The Pirellis I had before them were twitchy and always made me nervous. The Spirit ST are stable and remain grippy all weathers. The bike is still fun to ride fast and no less chuck-able riding twisty roads, just more predictable. The wear rate has been very good and so was the price. I also think they look great - especially that MotoGP-like rear. Will definitely replace them with the same again.

Driving on a combination of roads for 16000 average miles
They were on my new Yamaha MT07 from new 3 years ago. I cannot believe the mileage I have managed to date. Over 16,000 miles of predictable and solid performance. I've had 2 punctures repaired on the rear and now have decided to replace it as it's just started to square off and has collected another nail. The front looks as good as the day it went on the rim. I cannot rate these tyres highly enough.
