Braking distances and lap times are better when lower; speeds, wear and grip figures when higher. A test's figures are its own: sizes, cars, surfaces and temperatures differ from one to the next, which is why the averages here are only ever of tests the two tyres shared. "Scored" rows are subjective driver ratings: each test uses its own scale, so only the wins are counted.

- 184,500 milesdriven by reviewers
Owners generally rate the BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO3 well (average 77.8%), with most praising its off-road traction and its more civilised on-road comfort and noise levels than expected for an all-terrain. Wet performance is a bit mixed but leans positive overall, with several noting an improvement versus the KO2, though a meaningful minority still want more confidence in wet grip/braking. The main recurring drawback is balance/vibration issues (around one in four owners), and around one in four also point out that ice grip is not a strong suit, even if snow traction is often praised.
- Strong off-road traction on dirt/gravel and trails
- Comfortable ride for an all-terrain
- Low road noise, often reported as quieter than expected
- Good snow traction
- Balancing problems leading to vibration or wobble
- Limited ice grip (not a winter tyre)
- Slower, less sharp steering response

All 16 All Terrain TA KO3 reviewsHow much you love or hate these tires is highly dependent on the amount of time you spend on vs. off road. On dirt or mud, at least on a Ranger Raptor, they come alive inspiring tremendous confidence on loose surfaces at speed. But that confidence evaporates the moment you return to tarmac. Wet braking is particularly bad and frankly, when new, downright dangerous. After 2-3K miles they become a bit grippier in the wet, but never do they inspire confidence. In short, if your spending a lot of time hooning it on logging roads, you'll likely be satisfied, but otherwise Id look elsewhere.
Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac RT

All 3 Wrangler DuraTrac RT reviewsI use this tire on an 80 series Landcruiser that spend most of its time off road. The road manners are good, but I find the off road traction to be excellent. Packed snow and ice are not fantastic unless you have studs, but deep snow performance is excellent. When I off road in the winter, it is not uncommon to be driving through area with 2 feet of fresh snow and this tire is awesome. Noise is just ok, but it has a fairly aggressive tread, so a little hum is expected. Wear has been great as I got roughly 50k miles out of my last set even with all the off road driving. I didn't see a lot of tread chunking and I have not had a single sidewall puncture in 10 years with these tires (Yes, I am knocking on wood after typing that). Thick mud is the only 'weakness' for this tire as the self cleaning is not quite as good as my last set of BFG KM2's, but considering this is more of an all terrain rather than a mud terrain tire, I cut it some slack. Also does well in sand.

Reading the results
Written from the test results and owner reviews above. It is analysis, not a measurement: where it and the tables disagree, the tables are right.
The BFGoodrich All Terrain TA KO3 and Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac RT are all-season all-terrain tyres for SUVs and 4x4s, but their two shared tests point to different strengths. In the 2026 all-terrain test, the KO3 finished third of seven and earned a recommendation, while the DuraTrac RT finished fifth. In the 2024 on-road test, they placed seventh and eleventh of twelve respectively.
The choice is not simply about overall rank. The KO3 was consistently better on wet pavement, while the Goodyear had the edge in snow handling in both tests. For drivers splitting time between roads and trails, those differences matter more than the finishing positions alone.
Conclusion
The KO3 is the stronger all-round choice in this pairing. It stopped 1.21 metres sooner in the wet in the 2026 test and 2.44 metres sooner in 2024, and it was quicker in wet handling in both. It also scored better for on-road steering and handling in the 2024 test, though neither tyre was among that test's grip leaders. Its lower rolling resistance and better reported value measure add to its case for everyday use.
Choose the DuraTrac RT if snow performance is the priority: it handled snow faster in both tests and stopped 0.52 metres sooner in the 2026 snow-braking test. Dirt performance was close, so the available results do not establish a decisive off-road winner. Refinement also varied by test: the KO3 scored better subjectively in 2026, but the Goodyear edged it in 2024 and recorded a lower measured noise level in 2026. The practical takeaway is clear: favour the KO3 for wet-road travel, or the DuraTrac RT when snow capability matters most.
