Data updated

Which should you buy?

Choose the Michelin CrossClimate 2 if you regularly face cold temperatures, snow/ice, or you prioritize maximum dry-braking safety margin, aquaplaning headroom and efficiency-it's the more “do-it-all” premium option despite the high price. Choose the Falken EUROALL SEASON AS210 if your winters are mild and you want strong wet-road manners at a significantly lower upfront cost; it's a smart budget-conscious all-season, but with clear compromises in dry braking, deep-winter capability and typically rolling resistance.

Where the EUROALL SEASON AS210 is stronger

  • Strong wet-road performance for the money, frequently leading wet braking and wet handling-style tests (e.g., 2024 SUV wet handling 77 vs 74.2 km/h)
  • Competitive wet cornering metrics (wet circle/curved aquaplaning often ahead of CrossClimate 2)
  • Lower purchase price and strong value scores across multiple tests (often ~20-32% cheaper)

Where the CrossClimate 2 is stronger

  • Best-in-class dry braking across all shared tests (8/8 wins), often with a meaningful stopping-distance advantage
  • Clearly stronger winter capability overall: consistently better snow traction/handling and usually better snow braking
  • Generally higher straight-line aquaplaning resistance (notably a big gap in the 2024 SUV test: 91 vs 78 km/h)

Wins count every measurement the shared tests recorded for both tyres; a tick marks the tyre ahead on that line. Subjective driver scores count as wins but are never averaged, because each test uses its own scale.

Each row is one published test in which both tyres ran on the same car, in the same size, on the same day. The line is the whole field, winner on the left.

Braking distances and lap times are better when lower; speeds, wear and grip figures when higher. A test's figures are its own: sizes, cars, surfaces and temperatures differ from one to the next, which is why the averages here are only ever of tests the two tyres shared. "Scored" rows are subjective driver ratings: each test uses its own scale, so only the wins are counted.

Falken EUROALL SEASON AS210

  • 80%from 33 reviews

  • 297,611 milesdriven by reviewers

With an average owner score of 75.5% (24 positive vs 3 negative), most owners find the Falken EUROALL SEASON AS210 delivers confident, dependable grip, especially in the dry and in the wet. Comfort and wear rates are also frequently praised, with several reporting slow wear over higher mileages and a generally compliant ride. The main downsides are mixed views on road noise (split almost evenly) and, for around one in five owners, noticeably higher rolling resistance impacting fuel economy; a smaller group also mention slightly vague steering feel, particularly in warmer conditions.

  • Strong dry grip
  • Reassuring wet grip
  • Comfortable, compliant ride
  • Long-lasting tread life for an all-season
  • Noticeably higher rolling resistance / fuel consumption
  • Road noise can be intrusive for some
  • Steering feel can be a bit vague

These tyres do hold the road very well and have performed pretty good in all weathers and after 16,000 miles are still on 5mm, but they are very noisy and have a high rolling resistance which is very noticeable on my Skoda citigo, I have no doubt they would be ok on a much larger more powerful car, my next set of tyres would not be All season tyres.

Michelin CrossClimate 2

  • 80%from 173 reviews
  • 73%would buy again
  • 2,411,545 milesdriven by reviewers

Owners generally rate the Michelin CrossClimate 2 highly, most often praising its dependable all-weather grip with standout snow traction and strong dry and wet grip for an all-season tyre. Comfort is commonly reported as very good and a sizeable minority also find it quiet, though road noise is a recurring talking point with roughly one in eight owners complaining it can hum or rumble. The main consistent drawback is efficiency: around one in seven owners report noticeably worse fuel economy/EV range (rolling resistance). A smaller but meaningful group also criticise wet handling confidence, particularly when pushed, even though straight-line wet grip and aquaplaning resistance tend to be viewed positively.

  • Excellent snow traction and winter security
  • Strong dry grip and traction
  • Confident wet grip in everyday driving
  • Good ride comfort over longer distances
  • Noticeable hit to fuel economy/EV range (higher rolling resistance)
  • Wet handling can feel nervous or lack confidence when cornering/braking
  • Can be louder than expected on certain surfaces or at speed

After 2 hot summers the tires are dangerous on wet and cold,
That was actually very much appreciated since i drive them on a GR Yaris mostly on the weekends in the night on snowfall but normal use would be very very dangerous.

Reading the results

Written from the test results and owner reviews above. It is analysis, not a measurement: where it and the tables disagree, the tables are right.

Both the Falken EUROALL SEASON AS210 and Michelin CrossClimate 2 sit in the same “premium-touring all-season” lane, but the shared test data shows they're tuned with very different priorities. Across 8 overlapping professional tests (multiple sizes and vehicles), the CrossClimate 2 repeatedly behaves like a dry-and-winter specialist, while the AS210 tends to shine most when the road is wet and temperatures are mild.

What makes this head-to-head interesting is that the Falken often posts genuinely strong wet-lap numbers (wet handling/circle and sometimes wet braking), yet it consistently gives away a meaningful safety margin in dry braking and typically can't match Michelin's snow traction/handling capability. Add in price and efficiency differences (Falken cheaper; Michelin lower rolling resistance), and the decision becomes less about “which is best” and more about which conditions matter most for your driving.

Conclusion

Looking across the pattern of results, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 is the more complete high-performance all-season in the areas that most strongly correlate to safety and cross-season confidence: it won dry braking in all 8 shared datasets (often by ~8-13%, e.g., 47.7 m vs 41.7 m in the 2024 SUV test and 44.1 m vs 39.5 m in ADAC), and it is repeatedly the stronger winter tyre (snow traction/handling and typically snow braking). It also tends to bring better straight-line aquaplaning headroom (e.g., 78 vs 91 km/h in the 2024 SUV test), plus lower rolling resistance across the shared tests-useful for fuel economy/EV range.

The Falken EUROALL SEASON AS210's case is straightforward: it's frequently very competitive in the wet handling-style metrics and often nips the Michelin in wet braking (5 category wins vs Michelin's 3), while undercutting it heavily on price (commonly ~18-32% cheaper in the listed tests). The trade-off is that it repeatedly lacks the Michelin's dry stopping power and snow “lateral” confidence; multiple reports also flag limited aquaplaning safety reserves and weaker snow guidance at the limit.

Practical takeaway: if you want the best single-set tyre for mixed climates-including real winter use-and you value dry-braking safety margins and efficiency, the CrossClimate 2 justifies its premium. If your winters are mild and you mainly want strong wet-road behavior at a much lower purchase price, the AS210 is the value play-just accept the bigger compromises in dry braking, deep-snow capability, and (often) rolling resistance.

Where this data comes from

Finishing positions and measurements are transcribed from each published test. A test only counts here when both tyres ran in it, so every figure was recorded on the same car, size and day as the one it is compared to.

About the TR Score

The Tyre Reviews Score rates each tyre out of 10 from every independent test result and vetted owner review we hold, so two tyres can be compared even before a test has run them together.
