Giti GitiSportS2 vs Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6
Across dry and wet grip metrics, the Goodyear repeatedly stops shorter and laps quicker, often by meaningful margins (e.g., wet braking advantages frequently 8-20%). Yet the Giti consistently resists aquaplaning better in both straight and curved tests, and can edge fuel use/rolling resistance in certain sizes. Total cost of ownership also diverges sharply due to wear: Goodyear's mileage is often 50-100% higher, reversing any upfront price advantage.

Test Results
Independent comparison tyre tests are the best source of data to get tyre information from, and the good news is there have been nine tests which compare both tyres directly!

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 Driver Reviews
Across 160 driver reviews, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is widely praised for outstanding dry and wet grip, progressive and predictable handling, strong braking, and a surprisingly comfortable, quiet ride for a UHP tyre. Many users report improved confidence and everyday refinement versus previous tyres (including PS4/PS5, PZ4, and various runflats), with good value for money also noted. Minority complaints focus on faster wear and relatively low new tread depth, increased noise on rough asphalt, and a softer sidewall feel that can dull initial turn-in or feel floaty at higher speeds. Overall sentiment is strongly positive for performance-focused daily use.

I have now had the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5's, Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersports, Michelin PS4 and even some Avon's (for a brief period) on my current car - a Golf GTI Clubsport 40.
I mix up my driving a lot - lots of motorway driving but also lots of hard street driving and B road blasts, I find it massively important to have the best tyres possible to allow me to push my car as hard as I can in a safe manner.
I was massively impressed with the Asymmetric 5's, the sheer grip... Continue reading this review using the link below
Conclusion
Giti's value lies in deep-water confidence and occasional efficiency wins: if you regularly face heavy rain standing water, its aquaplaning reserves are excellent for the money. However, its longer braking distances and lower wet grip, plus notably shorter tread life, limit its appeal for enthusiastic or high-mileage drivers. For most buyers seeking balanced performance, safety in mixed weather, and best long-term value, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is the clear choice.
Key Differences
- Braking: Goodyear stops shorter in every dry and wet test (often 8-20% better in the wet).
- Handling: Goodyear is quicker and more precise on dry and wet circuits; Giti feels less precise, especially in the wet.
- Aquaplaning: Giti reliably leads both straight-line and curved aquaplaning tests.
- Wear and value: Goodyear's mileage is typically 50-100% higher, halving cost/1,000 km versus Giti despite a higher purchase price.
- Noise/comfort: Goodyear is usually quieter and more refined, though both can be comfortable.
- Efficiency: Mixed-Giti occasionally wins fuel use/rolling resistance, but Goodyear often matches or is close while delivering far higher grip.

Footnote
This page has been developed using tyre industry testing best practices. This means we are only comparing tests which have had both tyres in the same test.
Why is this important? Tyre testing is heavily affected by things like surface grip levels and surface temperature, which means you can only compare values from the same day. During a tyre test external condition changes are calculated into the overall results, but it is not possible to calculate this between tyre tests performed on different days or at different locations.
As a result you will see other tests on Tyre Reviews which feature both the %s and %s, but as they weren't conducted on the same day, the results are not comparable.
Lots of other websites do this sort of tyre comparison, Tyre Reviews doesn't.
