Data updated
Which should you buy?
Choose the Yokohama Advan Sport V107 if you prioritize dry stopping power and sharper, faster dry-road dynamics. Choose the Toyo Proxes Sport 2 if you want a quieter, more comfortable and more energy-efficient UHP summer tyre with generally stronger aquaplaning resistance and very competitive wet braking.
Where the Proxes Sport 2 is stronger
- Lower rolling resistance/efficiency advantage across tests (e.g., 8.7 vs 10.0 kg/t; 8.26 vs 9.99 kg/t), which can reduce fuel/energy use
- Refinement: consistently lower measured noise (e.g., 71.3 dB vs 73.1 dB) and higher comfort scoring where measured (e.g., 7.1 vs 6.6 in Top Tyre Review 2026)
- Aquaplaning resistance often stronger, especially straight-ahead (wins in 3/4 straight-aqua comparisons) and solid curved-aqua results in multiple tests
Where the Advan Sport V107 is stronger
- Clear, repeatable dry braking superiority (wins 6/6; typically ~0.5-1.8% shorter stopping distances)
- Generally faster/more dynamic dry handling when measured (e.g., 29.8 s vs 31.3 s in 2026 Top Tyre Review), with strong steering feel commentary
- Often stronger objective wet-lap/handling pace in group tests even when wet braking is split (e.g., AutoBild 2026 wet circle 14.95 s vs 15.29 s; wet handling 82.0 vs 81.8 km/h)

Wins count every measurement the shared tests recorded for both tyres; a tick marks the tyre ahead on that line. Subjective driver scores count as wins but are never averaged, because each test uses its own scale.
Head to head in 6 tests, 2023 to 2026
Each row is one published test in which both tyres ran on the same car, in the same size, on the same day. The line is the whole field, winner on the left.

In each test the better of the two figures counts as 100% and the other as its share of it, so a 36 m stop against 34.2 m is 95%; each spoke averages the shared tests that recorded it. The scale stops at 92%: a point further in sits on the hub's edge, hollow. 7 measurements recorded in only one shared test are left off; every measurement is in the table further down.

Braking distances and lap times are better when lower; speeds, wear and grip figures when higher. A test's figures are its own: sizes, cars, surfaces and temperatures differ from one to the next, which is why the averages here are only ever of tests the two tyres shared. "Scored" rows are subjective driver ratings: each test uses its own scale, so only the wins are counted.

Drivers report the Toyo Proxes Sport 2 delivers standout performance for the price, with consistently strong dry and wet grip, high confidence at speed, and sharp, predictable handling/steering response. Many comparisons against premium competitors (Michelin/Goodyear/Continental/Bridgestone) describe the Toyo as matching or exceeding them in real-world traction and stability while offering excellent value. A smaller number of drivers mention trade-offs such as limited rim-protection and a sport-tyre firmness (and occasional noise) depending on vehicle setup.
- Strong dry grip and traction
- Excellent wet grip and confidence in the rain
- Sharp handling, steering response, and stability at speed
- Predictable behavior under hard braking/cornering

All 9 Proxes Sport 2 reviewsI have had these tyres on my Audi TT 2.0 TFSI Quattro for a year and a half now and coming from an avid PS4S user I must say I'm shocked at how good these are for the money! They were about £70 per corner cheaper than the PS4S' for the TT in 255/35/19 so initially I was sceptical but I am amazing at the handling, dry AND wet grip they provide and the longevity of the tyres! I have covered a good mix of country roads, motorways and long trips across Europe in the year and a half I have had these on and they have never missed a beat! I'm so confident in the wet, even when driving very "spiritedly"! Granted they aren't as comfortable as a BluEarth GT AE51 for example but the car is lowered on coil overs so its not all the tyres fault. 10/10 would defiantly purchase again and recommend to others.
Yokohama Advan Sport V107
- 73%from 25 reviews
- 54%would buy again
- 140,521 milesdriven by reviewers
Owners most consistently praise the Yokohama Advan Sport V107 for strong dry performance, with around three in five highlighting excellent dry grip and many also noting sharp steering and confident dry handling. Wet grip is generally rated as decent, though opinions are more mixed, with a small but notable group (around one in seven) finding it weaker, particularly in colder conditions. The biggest drawback is longevity: around two in five owners complain of very fast wear. Noise is another frequent issue, with around one in three reporting higher road roar, especially on rougher surfaces.
- Outstanding dry grip and confidence under power
- Very capable dry handling with strong feedback
- Direct, responsive steering feel
- Stiff, sporty sidewalls that support hard driving
- Very short tread life and rapid wear
- Noticeable road noise/roar, especially on coarse surfaces
- Needs heat or a bedding-in period to feel at its best

Reading the results
Written from the test results and owner reviews above. It is analysis, not a measurement: where it and the tables disagree, the tables are right.
The Toyo Proxes Sport 2 and Yokohama Advan Sport V107 sit in the same modern “UHP summer” bracket, but the shared test data shows they chase performance in noticeably different ways. Across six overlapping comparisons (18-19 inch fitments, multiple test organizations), the Yokohama repeatedly leans toward outright grip and precision-especially when braking and pushing on in the dry-while the Toyo aims for a calmer, more efficient, more comfortable everyday UHP balance.
What makes this head-to-head interesting is that their strengths don't perfectly overlap: the V107 is consistently strong on dry stopping and tends to feel quicker when driven hard, yet it's repeatedly penalized on efficiency/refinement metrics (rolling resistance, comfort/noise) in the same group tests. The Proxes Sport 2 rarely tops the “sportiness” charts, but it posts frequent wins in rolling resistance, noise and aquaplaning resistance-traits that matter every day, especially for high-mileage or EV/plug-in drivers.
Conclusion
If your priority is maximum dry-road performance, the Yokohama Advan Sport V107 is the more convincing enthusiast choice in this dataset. It wins dry braking in all 6 shared results (typically ~0.5-1.8% shorter, e.g., 34.1 m vs 34.6 m in multiple 245/45 R19 tests, and 37.7 m vs 38.2 m in 225/45 R18), and it is generally quicker in dry handling when measured (for example 29.8 s vs 31.3 s in the 2026 Top Tyre Review test). That advantage helps explain why ADAC rated its dry behavior “very good” and why it often reads as the sharper, faster tyre.
If you want a more rounded UHP tyre for real-world use-especially where cabin refinement, efficiency and high-speed water stability matter-the Toyo Proxes Sport 2 makes the stronger case. It consistently beats the V107 on rolling resistance (e.g., 8.7 vs 10.0 kg/t; 8.26 vs 9.99 kg/t), is repeatedly quieter (e.g., 71.3 dB vs 73.1 dB), and frequently leads straight/curved aquaplaning metrics (e.g., 94.9 vs 93 km/h straight aqua in AutoBild 2026; 78.0 vs 75.9 km/h in ADAC 2025). Wet braking is split (3 wins each), meaning the decision is less about “wet grip” overall and more about whether you value the Yokohama's dry sharpness or the Toyo's day-to-day comfort/efficiency. Practical takeaway: V107 for drivers chasing dry-road bite and response; Proxes Sport 2 for drivers who want a quieter, lower-consumption UHP with strong aquaplaning resilience.
