Data updated
Which should you buy?
Pick the Kleber Quadraxer 3 if you want an all-season that repeatedly delivers proper snow traction and braking, and tends to resist aquaplaning better. Pick the Nexen N Blue 4Season 2 if your priority is long life, low rolling resistance and low noise, and you only rarely face real snow conditions.
Where the Quadraxer 3 is stronger
- Stronger snow braking, traction and snow handling in every shared test that measured snow, including Auto Bild 2026 and Auto Bild 2023.
- Better resistance to aquaplaning, repeatedly leading straight and curved aquaplaning in Auto Bild 2023, Auto Zeitung 2023 and the 2024 sports car test.
- Generally competitive on rolling resistance versus the Nexen in several shared tests, including Auto Bild 2023 and the 2024 sports car test.
Where the N Blue 4Season 2 is stronger
- Much higher projected mileage in Auto Bild's 2023 all-season test, and better wear again in Auto Bild 2026.
- Lower rolling resistance in Auto Bild's 2026 all-season test, and strong pass-by noise results there too.
- Dry braking can be a standout, for example around 3% shorter than the Kleber in Auto Bild 2026 and also ahead in the 2024 sports car all-season test.

Braking distances and lap times are better when lower; speeds, wear and grip figures when higher. A test's figures are its own: sizes, cars, surfaces and temperatures differ from one to the next, which is why the averages here are only ever of tests the two tyres shared. "Scored" rows are subjective driver ratings: each test uses its own scale, so only the wins are counted.

Kleber Quadraxer 3
- 86%from 32 reviews
- 90%would buy again
- 424,943 milesdriven by reviewers
Owners rate the Kleber Quadraxer 3 highly overall (85% average, with no outright negative reviews), most often praising its low road noise and cushioned, comfortable ride. Winter ability is a standout too, with many reporting strong traction in snow and dependable cold-weather grip, backed up by generally secure wet and dry grip. The main drawback is that a smaller but noticeable group mention the tyre getting noisier or losing performance as it wears, and a few also note a slight hit to fuel economy.
- Quiet on the road for an all-season tyre
- Strong snow traction and winter confidence
- Comfortable, compliant ride
- Reassuring wet grip
- Can lose grip or feel less consistent as it wears
- Slightly higher rolling resistance / fuel use
- Road noise can be an issue for some (especially at certain speeds)

Nexen N Blue 4Season 2
- 78%from 15 reviews
- 86%would buy again
- 145,500 milesdriven by reviewers
With an 80% average score and 10 of 12 reviews rating it positively, owners generally find the Nexen N Blue 4Season 2 to be a capable all-season option with dependable dry and wet grip, plus reassuring traction in snow for everyday driving. A notable minority mention ice performance, and opinions are mixed here (around a third of owners commenting), with a couple finding it excellent and a similar number reporting it's not as confidence-inspiring as a dedicated winter tyre. Comfort and refinement also come through strongly, with several owners describing it as particularly quiet.
- Strong dry grip for an affordable all-season
- Confident wet grip in mixed conditions
- Surprisingly capable traction in snow
- Very low road noise
- Mixed ice grip versus a proper winter tyre
- Soft/squishy feel or sidewalls when pushed

All 15 N Blue 4Season 2 reviewsIn the meantime, I've driven 32,000 miles (51,000 km) on these tires (see current photos), and I have to say, they're still performing excellently on my car. Summers here are hot, and winters are mild; we rarely get snow, just wet and slushy roads. These all-season tires are the perfect choice for these conditions, eliminating the need for unnecessary tire changes (except for swapping the front tires to the rear and vice versa). And they’re a great fit for my car (Kia Optima K5). The only downside is that at highway speeds, within a certain speed range, a pulsating noise occurs due to the tread pattern, but as soon as the speed goes above or below that range, it goes away. I highly recommend them for everyday driving—I’d buy them again.

Reading the results
Written from the test results and owner reviews above. It is analysis, not a measurement: where it and the tables disagree, the tables are right.
Nine independent tests have put the Kleber Quadraxer 3 and Nexen N Blue 4Season 2 head to head, including Auto Bild's all-season tests in 2026 and 2023, Auto Zeitung's 2023 all-season test, a 2024 sports car all-season test, Auto Bild's 2025 SUV all-season test, and three large braking or overview comparisons from 2023 to 2026.
Across those shared appearances the Kleber comes out ahead more often overall, typically by being the more winter-capable all-season and by repeatedly posting stronger aquaplaning and snow numbers. The Nexen's case is narrower but clear, it tends to look best when the focus is efficiency, noise and mileage, and it can be sharp on dry braking.
The headline is that Quadraxer 3 is the safer bet if you genuinely need all-season snow performance, while the N Blue 4Season 2 looks more like a mild-winter, high-mileage choice that can give away too much on snow, and sometimes in the wet depending on the test.
Conclusion
Taken together, the shared tests show two quite different takes on an all-season. The Kleber Quadraxer 3 is consistently the stronger winter performer. In Auto Bild's 2026 all-season test it is markedly better on snow across every discipline, with snow braking about 11% shorter and traction about 15% higher, and that pattern repeats in Auto Bild 2023, Auto Zeitung 2023 and the 2024 sports car all-season test where the Kleber is again a few to several percent better on snow braking, traction and snow handling. It also repeatedly shows better aquaplaning resistance, with straight-line aquaplaning typically around 6 to 10% stronger than the Nexen in Auto Bild 2023, Auto Zeitung 2023 and the 2024 sports car test.
The Nexen N Blue 4Season 2's strengths are much more about running qualities and longevity, and it is not subtle. In Auto Bild's 2023 all-season test its projected mileage is far higher, roughly 70% more than the Kleber, and in Auto Bild's 2026 all-season test it again leads wear by about 11% and has lower rolling resistance by about 8%. It is also usually the quieter of the two in the Auto Bild tests, and it can be very competitive on dry braking, for example beating the Kleber by about 3% in Auto Bild 2026.
Wet performance is the messy part. Several tests favour the Kleber on wet braking by a meaningful margin, notably the 2025 braking test (about 9% shorter) and Auto Zeitung 2023 (about 6% shorter). But other tests swing the other way, such as the 2025 Auto Bild SUV all-season test where the Nexen brakes about 4% shorter in the wet, and the 2024 sports car all-season test where it is about 2% shorter. Auto Bild's 2026 test has wet braking essentially level between them on the measured numbers, yet both tyres are criticised in the notes for wet behaviour, and the Nexen is also flagged as slow in wet handling. Overall, the Kleber looks like the more dependable choice when conditions turn wintry and when standing water is a risk, while the Nexen suits drivers who prioritise low energy use, low noise and long life, and who see little or no snow.

Where this data comes from
Finishing positions and measurements are transcribed from each published test. A test only counts here when both tyres ran in it, so every figure was recorded on the same car, size and day as the one it is compared to.
About the TR Score
The Tyre Reviews Score rates each tyre out of 10 from every independent test result and vetted owner review we hold, so two tyres can be compared even before a test has run them together.
Who does the testing
Every test published as a Tyre Reviews test is run by Jonathan Benson, who has been testing tyres independently since 2007.
