Hankook Ventus Prime 4 Owner Reviews

Review this tyre

What owners say summarised from 87 reviews

Owners rate the Hankook Ventus Prime 4 highly overall (average 80.7%), most often praising its strong dry grip and confident, predictable dry handling, backed up by a comfortable, generally quiet ride. Wet grip is also widely seen as secure for a touring tyre, with many calling it reassuring in heavy rain, though a minority report some instability or weaker aquaplaning resistance. The main recurring drawback is longevity: wear and performance consistency split opinion, with around one in four owners mentioning tread life and around one in ten saying grip drops off noticeably as the tyre wears, sometimes accompanied by increased noise.

Initial Impressions
My "review" of these tyres is limited to the tread depth of them when new.It is only 6mm when the norm.is 8 to 9mm.
The priving is competitive with its peers by virtue of selling you 25% LESS rubber for your herd earned cash.
Hankook will not explain why this is so.
I conclude they are ripping off the public.
Btw.why not publish ghe tread depth of all new tyres???
Yours truly,Simon Wells(privste motorist).

Thanks to compounding advances modern tyres can start with lower tread depths and get similar overall mileage. This brings benefits such as improved dry performance and lower rolling resistance across the tread life. Please report back once you have some distance on the tyres, you might be surprised in how well they last. Or you might not be of course.

I used to love this tyre. Have fitted it on both cars. Soft, good handling esp in wet, comfortable, low noise. Handling and braking becomes less efficient in very hot roads. But the main disadvantage which led me back to michelin tyres is the weak sidewall. I ve torn two almost new tyres just by touching edges of the sidewall. Michelin would not notice. Never again

Undoubtedly one of the best tires in the premium segment, with excellent value for money. They provide an excellent grip and driving experience, regardless of the condition of the road surface. I recommend them!

The tires were bought new this year. It may be a little early for a concrete test and description, but still...the tires "behave" fantastically. The grip is excellent (even now, when it's 4 degrees in the morning). They are quiet and relatively comfortable. Road feedback is perfect (unlike the previous GYs). For once, the "fuel" consumption is quite high compared to the previous tires (GY EP2) (about 20% higher), but time will tell when they are a little more worn (rolling resistance of new ones) and warmer outside - EV is particularly "sensitive" here (rolling resistance)! In summary, an extremely good tire for a very very good price. I would definitely buy it again!

Overall a very good tire. Had zero issues with them except excessive wear. Mostly country road driving mixed with some highways from time to time. No spirited driving at all really, just according to speed limits.

All in all it is a good handling tire, safe in all conditions but after 18000km the tires are down to the wear indicator. At this point the tires feels very odd and not trustworthy. I will not buy hankook tires after this excessive wear and strange feeling at the end of tires life.

The best summer tyre I drove was the Continental premium contact. And I wanted to try something different, and I need to say that I didn't regret, hankook ventus prime 4 is very good replacement. I am more than satisfied, and I would recommend that tyre.
Thanks

Good quality, quiet, soft and resistant tyre. Provides excellent rim protection and good cornering agility. I put on 4 new tyres about a month ago to replace some Michelin Primacy 4, and it was definitely an upgrade over the original tyres, especially in terms of comfort and noise. When I need to change tyres in the future, I'll certainly choose the same ones, I recommend them!

Previously was using Goodyear Triplemax 2 at the front and Ventus Prime 3 at the rear. Changed all 4 to Ventus Prime 4 just a few days ago and here is the difference -

Positive points
1. Less understeer
2. Felt the car glides smoother on the road.

Negative points
1. Slightly less steering feel.

I will update more as I drive.

When new: grip on dry and wet was very good. Always had a good feedback. Low noise and fuel consumption normal. But the tyre came new with 6.5 mm. Ok, they were cheap. Now they have 2-3 mm and they really got bad now. Especially in the rain. I would not buy them again. To high wear.
